I love the game so I'd say absolutely not. Online play is fantastic, new animations, pitching and batting feels a smoother. This is in my opinion the best baseball game ever (and yes I've played the hell out of MVP 2005.)

Take it for what it's worth though. If you'll play the game just a few times and are a casual fan, it won't probably matter as much to you.

I loved MLB 09: The Show, but decided a few months ago to trade it in while it still had value for this year's version.

The addition of Catcher Mode in Road to the Show is a really big deal to me because my player was a catcher. I wanted to learn to call games.

If you can get 09 really cheap, I guess you can go for that if that's what your budget dictates. But 10 is worth it in my opinion.

true, if you are a die hard baseball fan then obviously go with 2010. however, if you just want a baseball game so you can play a game solo or with a friendevery now and then go with 09'. i bought 2010 and i'm happy i did. also, i doubt 2010 will have a price drop until 2011 comes out.

i am thinking about to getting MLB 09 too, but I realize I cant hit on either 09 or 10. (it's so hard to hit a ball), so I will just play yahoo MLB fantasy. lol
