should i sell my broken YLOD PS3 or fix it first then sell it, to make a profit? It's a 40GB fat black PS3. I got it about 3 years ago, the warrenty expired. Also, does the PS3 slims get the YLOD? Is it more common, less common, or not that big of a difference?

you should try to sell it and buy a slim. They don´t YLOD very often. I don´t really know someone with a slim that got the YLOD.

I'd fix it first, its not too hard to fix, maybe an hour or 2 to repair it (look on youtube) i fixed mine a long time ago, I had a 60gb model that i sold to a friends mom for her kids, still runs great after i sold it to her, i have the slim ps3 and so far has yet to fail on me, so i think its less common that they YLOD

Ok thanks everyone. I'll probably fix it then sell it. I'm still deciding if I should stop playing video games or not since I'm slowly starting not to play as much as I use to, so I don't know yet if I'll be getting a slim or not.
