Well, that pretty much depends on how much you love your PS2 games.

TBH, I usually grow some sort of attachement to my games, so I wouldn't get rid of them, cuz I know sooner or later I'll miss not having them with me any more.

But that's me. Don't know about you.

Well, don't get me wrong. I respect your determination and how you are willing to dettach from something in order to get something else. I admire you, not all 13 y.o. see it that way, and you're clearly on your way to become a man now.

Kudos to you, kid :D

well if I were you I would hold on and figure out another way to make a little more cashstola. Your going to need alot more money after you purchase any console for that matter. Your going to figure out that owning a next gen console is STUPID expensive. $64 a game will bea pain in the rear for you since you have no J.O.B. Up to you kid, but remember to do some research of what your going yourself into before you go dropping $400+ on a machine.

Can't you just get a PS3 for Christmas?

Anyway, I would say trade them if you really want a PS3. Unless you have some rare games (which I doubt because everytime I go to GameStop, they have almost every game imaginable on PS2. They have an entire wall of the store dedicated to it.) then do it.

Oh, if you have Marvel vs Capcom 2, don't trade that bad boy in. You can find it, but you'll be lucky to find it under $40 anywhere.

I got money from allowance. But to make money you gotta learn not to spend it on anything. So let your parents buy you food and anything else you can think of and try to get them to buy the videogames too. If you still need more money what I did was I sold my school lunch a few times and when my family had cup of noodles I would take 2 or 3 and sell them for a buck each also at school.

I wouldn't trade the games cause I'm attached to my games as well. I want to be able to show my grandkids why my taste in videogames is way better than theirs.

Too bad that doesn't answer his question at all. But anyways if you have an ps3 games that you would like to play more of then no, but if you are ready to move on to just PS3 games then do it.

I don't do this but my friend washes cars. However, he is eighteen and just started driving so all the money that he earns is just used to pay for gas.I tell him to get a real job of course.

A while ago before I had a job, I just relied on my allowance. Because I got a new game every 3 months from getting straight As on my report card and stuff, games were never an issue. With that coupled with some extra money I might have recieved occassionally for special events, I quickly accumulated a lot of extra cash.

Lesson is to keep on saving. Call it heartless, but I used to treat my parents like a business

Eventually when you can get a job, it actually gets harder, so take advantage of your situation now. Good luck buddy.

Hmm... I think you should keep your PS2 ... save money for ages ... try get a job when you turn 14 at mcdonalds or something ... and by the time you've got enough the games you posibly want now will still be selling and even cheaper (seeing as though Resistance and Motorstorm are still selling when they were released WITH the PS3).

I just hope your not in Australia (like me). I'm 13 also, I get $15 a week by doing the dishes everyday and vacuuming the downstairs of our house, and the PS3 costs $700, and the games cost $100 - $120 depending on how 'BIG' they are. I only got my PS3 because I saw an add from a BETTER store than Gamestop/EB Games called GAME: The Next Level where I traded in my PS2, 10 games and a controller and got the 40GB for only $300. That was at Christmas time so maybe there might be a deal like that this Christmas. Maybe you should find somewhere where they let 13 yr olds work... is there a bakery nearby? a burger king/hungry jacks? I have no idea...

Enter competitions... any competitions... all competitions... and the stuff you don't want/need sell it... that should get you some spare change (if you win anything). Got anything else at home that you reckon you could part with that's worth a couple spare coins?

Depends really, i have no real attatchment to most of my games, so my brain works pretty much straight forward. What can get me the item, the cheapest and most profitable way possible. I would usually just trade the ps2 games since i know that they will probly be worth nothing later on, and i will never play it ever again. If i wanted too, i've got friends who have the games. That's how i think, up to you though.

To see you type that, I bet your parents would be proud.

Heck, if I were your parent, I would buy you one....just for that comment alone.

When I was your age, I tried getting money (from my parents) for anything I could possibly do: vacuuming, walking dog, mowing lawns, getting really really good grades, etc. Also, like others have said, xmas is right around the corner. If they cant afford to buy it in its entirety, than see if they are willing to pay for half and you pay for the other half with the money you've saved from all the chores/good grades.

Tell your parents you want to earn one and see what ideas they have for you. Maybe they have friends or people they trust that can help you get some work. Adults hate cleaning and they hate yard work you can make good money at your age doing those things. The only other way is to buy and sell things among the people you know. I used to sell candy at my school when I was your age. The school didn't like it, but I used to do it on the down low and make about $10-20 a day which was pretty good money. I bought my first car with that money :) I wouldn't trade any games or equipment in, the only way it's worth it is if you can sell it yourself.

What games do you have?

Depending on what games you have; it will determine how much you get in total.
