[QUOTE="signore"]Ive had a 40gb PS3 for about 7 months,,, no problems other than a loud fan (probably common). Convinced my dad to get a ps3 recently (i dont live at home) instead of a blu ray player.
Long story short,, Im finally seeing the MGS4 bundles back in stores again and I was thinking of returning my 7 month old PS3 with my dads recent receipt and paying the difference to get the MGS4 bundle. I already have MGS4, but i can return it to Walmart and get store credit and buy any other game, or wait for one of the big ones in the fall. I figured Id eventually need to upgrade my HDD to more than a 40gb, (80gb seems more than big enough) so im thinkin this may be a good deal. Id also upgrade to the dual shock controller and the ps2 BC would be a nice addition (even though i have a ps2, its more convenient i guess).
Im on the fence though, what do you guys think?

There's so many things you mentioned that you can't do. You can only exchange for the same thing. Ex: MGS4 for MGS4. It's not GameStop, they won't give you store credit. Also, they won't take your old PS3. You can't just waltz in, bring a 13" TV, and get credit towards a 42" LCD. Sorry boss.
If you want more storage, just swap your hard drives out. It's not hard at all.
My dad bought his PS3 15 days ago, so Im still within the 30 day period and can get full refund. They wont open the box and check if the the PS3 is the exact match to the box, Ive been returning things for years and never had a hassle. Sure, its a little dishonest but whatever.
Wal Mart will give you store credit for anything thats still packaged (the MGS4 game that comes with bundle)... just as long as you do it right. I'll get my girlfriend to return it saying she lost the receipt and theyll give her $75 store credit.
I was asking you guys if you think this would be a good idea to trade up to 80gb and pay the difference. Im 100% ill be able to return my old ps3 with new receipt and be able to return MGS4 (at a diff store) and get full store credit.
