Should I trade my 60gb in for 40gb PS3?

I have the 60gb with the Emotion chip, but Ive put a 100gb HD in it.

Im thinking of trading my up for a 40gb because of its slightly smaller form. I dont play PS2 games on mine, so the BC isnt an issue.

Should I do this or is it just stupid of me?

Yeah no offence but I'd have to agree. Are you saying there's no chance of you playing a PS2 game? I still play a ton of PS2 games myself and there are still some good games coming out for it. You'll also have less usb ports and no card readers.

Oh well to each his own. Go get the 40 if you really want it.

I'm sorry, but as you asked in the closing line of your topic, I have to say this is plain stupid. There is not one, not one single benefit of trading in your 60gb PS3 (overall best SKU made) for a 40gb PS3.

To my knowledge, the 40gb is not smaller at all. I don't have one, so I can't verify, but I'ver never heard of it being smaller. Still, even if it was, it would be minuscule, and wouldn't benefit you at all.

Don't sell your 60gb for a 40gb, unless you're bored and you wish to partake in an adventure of stupidity that culminates with you coming home with less then you had before, surely making you feel stupid in the end.

Not that you're stupid, but you asked if doing this would be stupid of you.

PM me and we can exchange my 40gb for your 60gb. Ill take out my hardrive and you can take out yours so we have all our files.

All I have to ask is WHY?! So you're giving up 120gb and Emotion chip, PLUS BC. I dont get it..:| I didnt even know there was a size difference? And how much of a size difference could it be that would make you lose your mind to do such a thing? The 40GB isn't smaller than the 60GB.

Now if you need money, you could sell your 60GB on ebay for $500-$600 and then buy a 40GB for $399 and reap the benefit of more money. Seeing as BC doesn't matter to you and you already have a 100GB HDD, seems to be your best bet if you need money.

Don't! 60GB are hard to get now, they have the least problems. 40GB hasn't been out long and they have higher failure rate... I think.
