Yes it will. Kojima announced MGS5 already. Look at REUTERS interview with Kojima for proof.

If so, it had better surpass MGS4 in almost every aspect. I'm not doubting Kojima's abilities, but sequels have been known to disappoint. MGS is no exception.

just like i said. pride comes before a fall.

while you are ascending, you should think descending too before you fall. i'm just afraid of MGS series will be ruined if it goes like Mario...

Yeah I believe it should I mean it went from Metal Gear to Metal Gear Solid so I guess the next game in the metal gear franchise won't have a 'solid' at the end, it will be completely different I mean Solid Snake won't be the main hero and the game would probably be alot more futuristic, I'm thinking similar in vibe to Ghost in the shell.

Maybe there will be MGS5 but it will not be linked to the Guns Of The Patriots.

MGS is indeed an exception my friend. Kojima managed to keep the saga at its best after each release and every sequel/prequel moved the series to the next step. MGS4 is even taking the series somewhere no other developer could've done it with their own series. You have to take in consideration that the saga is based on one story and one story only which started back in 1987 and Kojima managed to keep it as EPIC as it has gotten! When June 12th comes, the gaming world will witness the masterpiece!

Just because it has been epic for as long as it has doesn't mean it's immune from flopping. MGS5 might flop or maybe it won't. The possibility is there.

I would just like to say that I highly doubt Kojima will helm the next MGS after MGS4, I mean MGS4 is the end of the MGS story, MGS5 will be totally different. The reason he directed MGS4 was to put an end to the MGS story and tie all the loose ends since others in Kojima Productions did not know how to end MGS4. Now if MGS5 was to be made Kojima would have no need to direct it but he might produce, other people within Kojima Productions will be creating MGS5 with a whole new perspective.

lets see 1987 till 2008... I think they are doing alright... I dont think it will flop...

But then again Kojima said he just wants to supervise the next ones so it is a possiblity

I'll wait 'till I finish MGS4 to make up my mind. As of right now I'd love for the "Solid" series to continue but you never know....

The ending of MGS4 might be so good that future additions to the series might dilute the previous story.

I wouldn't mind a new Metal Gear game that looks into other characters from the series as well another Big Boss story perhaps.

MGS4 isn't the end of the MGS story. MGS4 ends the story of Solid Snake. The Patriots and Ocelot and other characters might still be around and someone else will take Snake's place. Sons Of Liberty anyone?

yall do know that he had little to nothing to do with portable ops right?

And that game was pretty decent... not the best but decent and great for a PSP game... So who knows maybe his young followers learned some tricks over the years working under him... I see hope.

Plus i can see Kojima ten years from now playing with his dog in the yard and the konami team says here Kojima we want you to be the first to play Metal Gear Liquid or Metal Gear Raiden.... Or Metal Gear Kobe...

And Kojima will play the game and say he either likes it or hates it... depending on that playthrough they will release the game...

Cause trust me the last thing Konami wants is for the 20 year old cash cow to be turned into every other dull sequel drama game that has come out...

DMC anyone? Onimusha anyone(well the last one)?......... well let me cut to the point CAPCOM anyone? lol

That is true and I agree 100%. I don't think it's easy for Kojima to see another MGS on PS3 being developed when he has no hand in it. It's not easy at all. It's not like he created Metal Gear a year or 2 years ago. It's more than 20 years of his life and his work.

I honestly can't see myself playing as any other character but Snake. Snake is Metal Gear. I had a somewhat mixed feelings when I had to play as Raiden during MGS2. I really didn't want to control him but because I was so engaged in the story so I stuck with it. I hope Snake comes back in some way for MGS5, maybe pop a revival pill with some age stoppage properties in it. Ha ha, I'm joking about that but I am being real about the protagonist. Snake is irreplaceable.

I dont think so... considering that we only played one game as Solid Snake.... two games with Big Boss... and one game as Raiden...But who am I to tell you right...

oh and as far as the mixed feeling you had for raiden... it was just you tryin to figure out which sex he was... LOL

I think as long as the story is good everybody would be good with whoever is the lead character in MGS5... but then again thats my opinion.

Yeah, I'd like to see another Metal Gear, the more the merrier. Unless it's starting to become milking, because then it just plainly starts to suck. But, I will cross my fingers for Kojima and it will most probably not suck ^.^
