[QUOTE="2Chalupas"]You mean a PS3 slim-er ?Vader993
yeah
no they should just leave it "dont fix something that isnt broken"Hate to break it to people but the whole focus of the designers fo PS3 is to make it as inexpensive as possible. As soon as it is possible they will make a smaller PS3. IT will be PS3 Lite around 2012-2013. Then a PS3 compact in 2014-2015.
PS3 will be a around a lot longer than PS2 has been as it drops in price. Developers will not be so eager to rush to the next generation like they have last gen, which many still think was an error as PS2 outsold Xbox 360 and PS3 for the first 2 years and still sell WELL 9 years later.
I think they should make another slim(er) model in 2-3 years, when the production cost of the PS3 is even cheaper. Remember that this gen is going to be longer than previous gens, so making another newer modle is pretty smart.J-WOWYeah true, I think it will be wasted effort, like the PSPGo after everyone already has a PSP....

If the ps3 price drops to $200 I can see then coming out with a new slim

i can't argue with
[QUOTE="Vader993"][QUOTE="-Hoax-"]Why?JohnF111
gain some momentum
Yeah we are not all Xbox kids who just buy a new console "Every other week".... i lol'dIf they can make it of comparable size to a PS2 slim without a noticable lack in performance, yeah. My friend could fit a PS2 slim in his pocket and the gear necessary for play (AC adapter etc.) in his other pocket. It was portable gaming that was 10 times better than a GBA.
Except you still need to plug into a wall, and you still don't have a TV, unless you're trying to say he could fit a TV in their pants pocket. :roll:If they can make it of comparable size to a PS2 slim without a noticable lack in performance, yeah. why? isn't it slim enough for ya?jcopp72I guess some people just love cheap, plastic **** - which is basically what the ps3 slim is compared to the launch models.

It's not that hard to find a TV around, but it is hard to find a PS3. Unless you're implying that no one has a TV these days.
sony lost a lot of money in the older modelVader993Well boo **** hoo. Wanna cry me a river for that tired old excuse? Nothing that Sony had done to cut costs with the ps3 couldn't have been applied without losing functionality. They could have easily remade the EE+GS chip in the hardware BC models of the same, low manufacturing process as they did for the Cell and RSX. And given it's ten-year-old tech, there is no way that it could cost them that much to retain it in the ps3. It cannot cost them $100/unit to keep in like this one **** $ony rep was trying to claim - unless they retained the original manufacturing process for PS2 chips like that... in which case, would be a sad and stupid decision on their part. either way, they have zero sympathy from me. These new slims are a complete piece of Chinese knock-off trash compared to what they did have. Removing functionality to save less than $0.05/unit is without a doubt the most **** move Sony has done since their entry into the industry.
