I do. I am sick of playing team games in silence. some games it is essential for voice interaction. I know some people can be idiots but just kick them out of the game. I think it would b nice, it would defiantly help playing online most games, tho I doubt sony would do this... they will probly add 1 to MAG and any other big shooter exclusive.
WTF - how can you be happy with silence when you need a team member to do something and u can't communicate. its ok with deathmatch games or driving altho you need some banter when you run them off the track. Silence is not the way forward whilst playing online games.
I don't like talking and hearing others during online games. I have 3 different mics and I quit using them because people are ignorant SoBs and they like to tell you how to play. But if Sony were to do it they should put the cheap $20 USB wired mics and include a 6ft HDMI cable too.
Yes and no, --- Yes - as it would be good for the package to make a more complete online setup for new owners. No - as right now it's simply to late for them to bother as it won't change a thing for the most part, this is because the people who currently have a PS3 and no headset still won't get one (and that's a lot), plus it's not like headsets are expensive as pretty much any BTooth headset will work (my first cost less than a 5 spot). --- Also, you should leave the final comment for systems wars IMO, it's really not needed in the PS3 section as it's a matter of opinion NOT fact.

The official $50 Sony headset is too expensive, but if they packaged a crappy full size headset that plugs into your controller (like 360) with the $299 80g PS3 Slim, that would be a good move, andsave me some money ;)

That is all i would want. Most people dont want to spend more money on a headset so if a cheap one was bundled it would improve the online a hell of a lot. Plus the hardcore gamers would probably upgrade to a better one anyway.

all i hear is racists idiots, music, or private conversation or a **** telling you how to play the game no thanks i mute most with mics anyway.

I think the most important thing a company can do is offer choice and preferably a choice that does not come at the expense of the consumer, which I think it was a stupid move of Sony to not include a headset with the PS3. At least with the 360 I have the choice to use my headset, if I want to chat on the PS3 I have to make a choice whether or not to spend $50 and that sucks.

Kinda reasonable considering kids are yelling into your ears telling you suck or your a noob or swearing you really want that to happen in a game over a little less teamwork I would think of my mental wellness before any game even if it was the world's best game

God why don't you get a backbone. It's only kids and give them some abuse back if necessary or leave game and go to a different host with people more in tune with you. There are some nice players out there and some that take itvery seriously which make me laugh
Man I think this is the first disagreement with a Gamespot person and I've only been here for about 3 days lol well you won't know any people until you play for the first minute with them to see if they like to swear but a lot of people like to swear an exaple would be people on Youtube people can't even go through an unboxing without swearing 5 to 6 times and what if every room you go into there seems to be a kid huh? what then aren't you and I screwed lol
People constantly talking online are driving me crazy. I understand it in some games like Fat Princess or co-op stuff like RE5, but to casually play a FPS, I really don't care about voice chat (especially if that means I can't hear enemy footsteps or gunfire because some idiot keeps babbling)
Im so glad they dont, i hate mics I play games to get away from annoying people, its the most annoying thing in the world to play with kz2 up real loud and then some idiot starts screaming. I wish we had the option to cut out mics on our profile 100% i really dont like them

You will find alot of people are like this, i own a mic and refuse to use it. I think even if everyone owned one a LOT of people would still not use it.
I think they should bundle a headset with it. Weather you use it or not. I find the community on PS3 very quiet compared to 360. Most of the people on my 360 friends list are people Ive never even met. But it's easier to talk to them and gain friends on your system through voice chat. Which is why I play 360 online more. It's quite lonely on PS3 for me. But this is just from my experience during on-line play.
In saying that though, since the arrival of the party feature for 360, most games are quiet, because everyone is in a party with there friends.

It would be nice. I would have played more PS3 games if I had a mic to talk to people. Without one I put off playing games like Resistence 2 and Killzone 2.
More PS3 hosts need to do what 360 hosts do, no Mic = booted. Until I get a mic I will not play online.
Yes, definitely. I have the official headset, and it's really good quality. They should package them in with every PS3, because it really helps strengthen the online community, and even if there are people that won't use it, at least everybody can speak if needed.
If the price doesnt change then much then sure why not. I'd rather play games that didn't use headsets though, listening to some 12 year old scream filth while making everyone listen to 50 cent is not my cup of tea, then when they find out your a girl gamer it gets considerably worse.
I understand it helps teamwork if you use it properly, but most people arent mature enough to own a headset from what i've experienced :(

Dude I so agree. It is a great relief to know when I play Halo 3 or Gears horde mode, I will be co ordinating with my team. When I played KZ2 it was mostly run around trying to accomplish the goal, Rambo style because there was no communication.
