u dont have to buy the uber gold plated oxygen filled bullcrap hdmi cables, just any hdmi cable will work, u wont be able to tell a difference between a 10 dollar cable and a 80 dollar cable

yes we should have gotten one, and no it wont come with your tv you need to buy one and a 10$ will work just fine

Well you need to shop around more -- hell HDMi cables in Australia you can find for around AU$40 ($34 US ) ... its only the rip-off big brand cables which are $100 + ...

You guys know gold is a better conductor which is why they use it in the more expensive cables and having a better connection will reduce distortion and 'noise' in the picture quality. Not to mention they have crappy insolation which can cause distortion if crossed with other cables. We Americans need to get out of the mindset that "cheaper is better" because it's just not true. I swear that if there was something that was American Made for $5 and Chinese Made for $4 most of you would pay the $4 bucks cause "it's the same thing and it's cheaper."
It's disappointing that sony is touting the PS3 as the future of HD games yet provides no HD cables at all. I could forgive no hdmi(i got my cable for $15 online, do not pay more!) but no component cable?Weak.
No wo shouldn't. It'd add to the cost of the Ps3, which would hurt price drops and profits for the company that would be givng us games, and almost everyone wouldn't use one yet.
