Silent Hill: Homecoming Clock Puzzle Glitch!!

At some point we get to a clock puzzle. The answer to it is obvious. The answer is located on a clipboard in the same room. But, when you set the time on the clock, nothing happens. I saw a few forum posts out there, and others are complaining about this issue too. I thought to myself, "Maybe we're all wrong and that's not the correct answer." However, I saw another forum after thinking that, where a few people had the patience to go through the entire clock and got random answers. So I contacted Konami. It doesn't seem they're aware of the issue cause they (eventually) gave me the same answer that I've previously determinned DOES NOT WORK!!!

I eventually gave in and went through the whole clock randomly. Of course, I don't want them to know that, cause I think they should fix it, and not just promptly close my case. Especially since I would like to play through it again later, and don't want to deal with that again. So please guys, let Konami know about this. Its ashame for a great game to have such an aggravating glitch.

There is a clock puzzle in the game. The answer was obvious "2:06". I've entered the answer and it did not work. I searched online forums to see if I was mistaken and all agree that the answer is correct. However, many others are experiencing the same issue. This is an obvious glitch. Can we expect an update to rectify the situation?

I don't know about you, but Ive beaten that game twice with no problems, other then that one part (The riddles where you stick your hand in the hole) for some odd reason I kept getting it wrong over and over again, but once I found out which once; the next time I did it they were different for some reason....

I havnt came across that puzzle yet, but if i understand correctly; if i dont do that puzzle first in that area, i have to start the whole game again?gekidami

Possibly. It's not affecting everyone. I won't tell you what happens, but when when you come back to your house, the room closest to the front door becomes a save point. Make sure to save there immediately and don't save again until after the clock puzzle. This way, you will only have to start from that point and not from the beginning of the entire game.

I hope they fix it, maybe someone should try and contact the guys who made it (Double Helix Games) instead of Konami, seeing as for SH5, Konami only published it.

Chill out man. It pissed me off too, but I got around it. Set the clock to 2:00. Then work your way around the clock. I got up to 8:47 (or something like that) until it worked. I know it looks like it will take forever, but it only took about 10 minutes to get it working. BUT, you should go to Konami's web site and let them know you're having the same problem. They finally put my complaint in review. Let's hope more people complain to them so they'll make an update that can fix it.

Well no need to get mad at us just because we don't have the glitch... 2:06 worked for me the first time around too, sorry to hear it doesn't for you, but really all you can do is load up an older save and use the save room in the first floor's east room BEFORE you attempt any puzzle in the house...

I had one glitch where the slider puzzle in the attic was IMPOSSIBLE! It took me 3 HOURS! to realize it! I was going mad at this kiddie puzzle!

I just reloaded and did it in under a minute ROFL! Guess SH:H tries to get under your skin at some point in the game, but no need to be angry at people for that reason...

I definitely will. Let's hope they get that update out for others soon. Otherwise, I REALLY enjoyed the game. It's definitely the best since SH2!

Yeah mine was messed up too. Even though the chart on the wall said 2:06, I just had to keep changing the clock until it got 5:43 or 5:44 before it worked. This is a randomized glitch.

Just start at 2:00, and keep moving the big hand around 360 degrees and then go to 3:00. Rinse and repeat until you get the thing to work. It's faster to use the D-pad to change the big hand because you can use your index finger to time the taps to move as fast as possible and take less time.

This is a stupid glitch, but you will get the clock to work eventually so don't give up!

Point Your mouse at 2hr and click it

then point at 6min and click it

It's quite easy to try all the 720 possible answers when you're playing the X360 or PS3 version. It takes about 15 minutes.

In the PC version there's another glitch. The one that keeps you from choosing an determinate time in the clock. The clicks in the mouse are not obeyed. There's no keyboard option to the clicks.

I was having such a great time playing this game and now I just CAN'T play it anymore because of this stupid flaw in the programming.

Ugh this game is absolute bull... I got the clock Glitch too on the 360, WHAT is the point of paying £40 for a game that you cant finish?! Complained to Konami, taking this game back tomorrow, wait for Res Evil 5 instead!!

I've got the same problem :( I'll try other 'times' which isn't a fun thing to do.

I totally understand your frustration. But in the time you've spent fighting with Konami, and arguing with people online about this glitch...you could have already solved the puzzle by going through every time. I sucks to have that happen in a game, but you have to pick your battles.

I know it is a LITTLE bit late for answering this, but I have the solution for anyone who might be playing the game right now on PC.

If in PC you have this problem that when you click the handle moves but not where you clicked, DON'T PUT THE HANDLES IN THE 2 AND 06, CLICK WITH THE MOUSE THE 2 AND THE 06, HAVING SELECTED THE RESPECTIVE HANDLE FOR EACH OF THEM, AND IT WORKS.
I just tried it that way and it worked fine, sorry for answering this 3 years later, but that is the "FIX" for it, just think that where you clicked is the handle and not the actual handle from the game.
