Today I've got the chance to play an approximately 600 MB demo of the long awaiting horror adventure title of Konami (Silent Hill: Origins) for the PSP. This demo consisted of a part of the main character of the game ( Travis) exploration in a rather deserted hospital in order to find what happened for little girl who was a patient in that hospital. I must say that after about 2 hours of game-play to finish the demo this game is the first true adventure game for the PSP and this will answer the need of PSP owners to have adventure games ( Also the game is in principal an Action-Adventure title but with very limited action and more mind challenging puzzles) both because of its story and also technical specifications which is unbelievable for PSP to produce such famous noise effects of silent hill series. The game is still frightening even on small TFT screen of PSP and have a few glitches which I am sure they will be able to fix it upon the release but believe me you are gonna add this to your collection of top ultimate technically superior games for PSP. I could post a video of the game-play if I was a level 10 or a registered member to show you the level of details in the game but in the meantime its suffice to say this title will definitely beat MGS portable ops n terms of graphics. If anyone else has the same experience with the title demo I would be happy to know about it.

ive seen the demo ..ive seen my friend play alot of the other games and I just dont see the hype to this game ..I mean first of all its not even scary ,,we played it in the dark and there would be some disturbing images but nothing scary at all, Like at least resident evil makes you jump from surprise,,these games to me are so dul and the characters have NO personality what so ever..like you would think the main character would show a little more emotion when he see's some of that SH*T but no

Thats just my view I find these games to be very dull , the story is dull, and the characters are boring...the only good about this game is nothing!!

But thats just how I feel .....now go ahead and eat me alive!!

Hey DS12, Not going to eat you alive. I happen to agree with you for the most part. However, the first Silent Hill was "Fun," in a "dicovering the unknown" kind of way, like reading a book and playing out the character. Not enough for me to become one of the cultish followers of the series though. It has it's market and seems to be doing well with the fans of the SH franchise. So, let'em have their vise. I'll stick with my FPSs...Enjoy guys! The movie sucked eggs too...LOL!

I got my hands on the demo too LOL

It looks and plays awesome, and it does make you jump, specially when the first nurse is waiting for you right outside the room where you see the little girl through the glass

I don not know what is illegal about playing a completely legal demo and not sharing it with the others... and about the guys who afraid of being eaten alive. Nobody will eat you as long as you are this tasteless... everybody knows the silent hill is one of the best horror franchises just like the resident evil series... you said it is not scary.. of course when you play a scary game in presence with one of your friends it'll be a fun rather than a scary... the sole purpose of horror games is to play them just by yourself as a single player. Silent hill is based on the dark realities behind our everyday life. It's about a supernatural phenomena not simply a virus getting out of control like the one in RE series, so with all due respect I must say that based on the depth of story the silent hill series are far more superior than the RE series although both games are considered as masterpieces by the fans including me but it is clearly visible that the SH has a strong background philosophy behind it with more thinking and less action than the RE. SH tries to scare you not by a horde of zombies which jump on you suddenly but with a sudden voice of a beautiful piano playing in the middle of a dark empty house right when you think beautiful songs are ALWAYS beautiful!!! Anyway maybe I am over reacted about this game but everybody who sees it admits that this one is at least technically one of the best examples of PSP hardware capabilities and certainly the first horror game which will be released for PSP... so are feeling being eaten alive???

Graphic kills in this one. It looks so great and the shadows are so realistic. Bang this is the way psp games should look. As for the game itself its worth anticipation after seeing the demo. New idea of changing "dimension" by mirror makes probably more riddles possible inside game. Also new weapons like tv and toster. I hope the plot will be good and if it is so whe will have anothe great game and possibly system seller among horror fans. Cant wait till i get this one in my hands later this year.

Yeah it sure will be a commercial success too and about changing dimensions using the mirrors I agree with you this is the best part of innovation n the series and I think this is happen for the first time in the PSP exclusive version of the game which is really a bless for PSP. And while there are games like this in the way I think PSP will continue its graphic superiority over DS and will evolve it with the innovation and uniqueness .

Just a heads up before anyone downloads it, you need custom firmware to play it. It is a UMD rip.
