Sixaxis controller too damn expensive

seriosly, 50 euros for that? i mean, i really wanted a new one to play co-op withmy friends, but i won't give 50 euros for one! are they ever going to drop the price of it or what?

and no, i dont want to use ps2 controller adapted to the ps3, i really wanted the sixaxis to drop price! it's hard enough to save money for all the upcoming games, and a new controller 50 euros? what's up with that?

Near me sixaxis is the cheapest. Its only 40 dollars at most places. The 360 controller is 50 and the wiimote+nunchuk is 60. So the sixaxis is actually not ridiculously priced. They're all rediculously priced.

The price drop was in accordance to a business plan that was outlined way before the launch of the PS3 estimating the lowering cost of part to build the PS3. It would have happened regardless of complaining.

Yes, I am sure about that. It may not have been $100 but a price drop around the fall/holiday season was planned into their business plan from the start due to expectations of blue diode lasers costs dropping. Then couple that with the decision to remove the EE (probably due to the fact that blue diode lasers didn't drop as quickly as expected) and you can reduce the price to raise demand even higher while still making the same profit. That's why business plans are in place.

As far as complaining, I agree there is nothing wrong with complaining, but the fact is that it's a high cost all around and I guess I just didn't like how the TC singled out Sony for having high prices. Although thinking about it now, it is the PS3 forum so maybe I'm in the wrong here.

technically, the price didnt drop. after the 60gbs are gone, its back to 599$...

the rick is completely correct. of course they would have dropped the price look at the 360 its selling amazing and they still dropped the price. they did not drop it because of complaints sony does not really care about what sissy kids think and what they complain about because they were still selling systems regardless of the price. so you my friend know absolutely nothing about buisness and for that matter life!

Especially since the controllers feel cheap in the first place, and they wear down fast! I mean after i finally gave Super Stardust HD a break, because i really loved that game, I noticed that the controllers, thunb sticks felt sorta stiff.

n64 controllers were that much early in its life...

so were gamecube...

Gaming is an expensive hobby. I thought you woulda known that when you dropped 500+ on a system...? I dont understand the logicof some gamers today.....
