Anyone else here find the deadzones on the analogue sticks terrible compared to the old PS2 sticks?

Particularly when playing GranTurismoHD I find that onc eyou pass halfway betweeen middle and the edge there's no more to give...it's not staggered evenly. Maybe it's my controller (my luck I guess!) but just wondered if others had found this with their games? Tends to be a right pain when playing other games too like resistance etc.

Ade.

Yeah, I made a post about this when I rented resistance. People said *oh, but you can change that in the option menu* but you can't. If the sticks were as tight as the ps2 controllers, it wouldn't be so bad but the sixaxis has such loose analog sticks. Though, what i hate even more so is the deadzone in the six-axis tilt sensor. If you tilt to a certain point in heavenly sword *when you do the aftertouch thingy*, it'll get a jittery and not work at all until you center it again.

I haven't noticed anything of the sort. I'll get back to you, I'll test out GTHD and Resistance. Be back in a bit.

I used to think they were pretty cool, but right now, I conclude that SIXAXIS controls suck.

I was hoping Lair would change my mind, but EGM doesn't seem to agree one bit. I'll make my own judgement when the game is released though.

SIXAXIS controls just don't work well in my opinion. I tried, I really tried to get them to work with Motorstorm and the Heavenly Sword demo, but it's just not responsive.

I hope someone figures out a good use for the controls though. They're highly disappointing in my opinion.

I tested out GTHD and I didn't notice anything like what you describe. The controls are much more responsive and pressure sensitive than the PS2's analog stick IMO. I think you two have defective controllers.

i haven't noticed any dead zones since launch, right up until i got VF5 two weeks ago, i know VF doesn't use teh analog stick, but the controller i've been using on it hasn't felt the same since, i think i broke it or something, because in all the game i play now there are deadspots at up-right and up-left on the analog stick.

The first thing I noticed was that it has a lot poorer quality than the dual shock 2. It feels like it is going to fall apart, the plastic is thin and sits loose together. I'm not sure about the analog stick though, I'll test it later today.
