Ya, I am excited...One reason they may have held off on announcing it, is because they want to get it out as soon as possible and showing it without telling when it would be available would make people hold off on perhaps buying a ps3 (hoping it comes bundled) or accessories. Also, having just settled, they may have just started on production and could be running into some problems with six-axis and rumble or battery life, but I am sure we will hear something soon, TGS (as the article above says) would be my guess
