I just have this question if it ever does come out the rumble feature and all for the sixaxis

would the firmware automatically update it through the our controllers? or do u actually have to buy a new controller that they would sell when the 80GB comes out this fall. Because thats what i been seeing that the the new controllers have the PS button glowing red.

Playstation 1 came out with controllers without the analog or rumble in the beginning, then they brought the dualshock. They didn't have to do any update or anything, they just coded the info into the new games

(maybe rumble was in the first controllers, I don't remember, it was sooo long ago.)

You would have to, tothe new controllerscuz you cant do a firmware to the existing controllers cuz they dont have rumble in them. But the develepors of games that already released would have to release an update for the games for them to support rumble. I think sony would release in a firmware for the new controllers to shake while playing ps2 and ps games also.

^ Yeah. The SixAxis doesn't have rumble built in (unless Sony's been keeping something from us). So you'd have to buy a new one that has the rumble feature.

Yeah you got that right, I'm not paying for a new controller with rumble which I don't even want at alland hope there will be an option to turn off the rumble like the Logitech PS2 wireless controller.

I dont even think we have to buy another controller. They always have the rumble feature optional like with the PSone and PS2.

Sounds just like when PS1 came out with the DUALSHOCK, we all had to go out and buy brand new controllers to use the technology. But DS introduced analog sticks to PS1 so it was a much better investment, 49.99 just seems like too much for the addition of rumble. It's exactly why I sold my PS3 shortly after launch, you just knew that Sony would put out versions with better features later on.

What's the deal with newer andbetter versions of consoles coming out like a year after launch, are the companies that greedy these days? It was like 5 years before PS1 and PS2 each got slim re-designs, now I gotta buy something new a year later?

I think I hate next gen.
