thpg isnt fun after playing skate
the tony hawk rigger thing and putting ramps in places is crap
skate is so much more realisticand with that replay is so awesome i love it
I've been a TH fan since the first game, but I'm going with Skate this time. THPG is pretty much the same as P8 and it's getting boring. If adding different career paths and a gimmicky NTG mode is the best they can come up with, then I won't be buying it.
I found Skate to be quite refreshing and fun to play. You definitely feel more satisfied when you land a few decent tricks. It was a bit weird playing it at first though lol.
The THPS trick system is just old. It's been nearly 10 years that we've been doing the same tricks.
Besides, skate and it's different approach reminded me of Trasher: skate and destroy for the PSX. That alone made the game worth my while.

Ha! The funny part is, when I opened the thread, the banner ad I got was for Skate.

thpg was trash. Skate actually made me love skateboarding. The skill and reward you get from doing tricks is AWESOME. I think I may actually buy it.mikey050591
Yup..
Skate has better everything in my opinion.. Animation are amazing compared to PG.. I've probably played the Skate demo around 15 hours and the PG demo around 3 minutes.. Arsenal325
How did you play the demo for 15 hours? It has a 30 min timer on it. Are you able to play it again once you reboot? I figured once the timer was up, you were done. I may have to download it again.
lol....lol...dude quit the game and open it again and there you go 30 mins more...and when the time is up you quit again and play once more...its that simple[QUOTE="Arsenal325"]Skate has better everything in my opinion.. hah all u gotta do is press center button to exit out of the demo then just click it again :) its like a 3-5 minute process
Definitely Skate. Now that the Skate franchise has entered the skatin' scene, Tony Hawk has little to no value.;)
Don't get Skate 1, get Skate 2 if you don't want to get Proving Ground. Skate 1 sucked, if you're deciding between Skate 1 and Proving Ground, Proving Ground is miles better. So don't waste your time with Skate 1, just get Skate 2, or wait till Skate 3 comes out.
Problems with Skate 1:
The camera is too low and you can't change it. Your skater obstructs your view and because the camera is pointed at the sky, you can't view your surroundings very easily.
You can't change the music, there's no playlist to view.
You can't get off your board to get around obstacles that are impossible to skate over.
