I know BO2 has been getting mixed reviews recently and understandly so as I can see some people just getting burnt out by the series by now, but I wanted to know if you guys think its worth it to try BO2 seeing as how I pretty much skipped BO and MW3. I haven't played COD online since MW2 (played the single player for both BO and MW3 though) and I wanted to know if the multiplayer on BO2 is worth trying?

I hear the PS3 version is substandard just like the first Black Ops. Online that is.

As with ALL CoD games, there are server and connectivity issues which WILL get ironed out, they're just swamped with players on a new game so as usual, there are some problems... But the graphics are fine, don't listen to the punters. THere will always be people who hate. Oh well. What I've played so far has been a riot. I have a good team from the last set of games, though. I'm sure if you're a loner you'll get schooled pretty badly. THere are already "experts" on the maps. It happens.

But yeah, I like it just fine. More fun than MW3 so far, for me. Your mileage may vary.

it is a welcome update to the benchmark series, graphically you will notice only refinements but not extreme differences; the infinity ward engine works marvels since 2007, all with silky smooth 60 fps, so no changes there... the real change is the load-out system allowing you to customize it any which way you want, which is quite fun to explore... the maps are as of yesterday still unknown to many players, so not so many campers (not that it is a bad thing, but gets annoying if you are in a r&g mood)... all in all, the game is not a world changer, but a tweaked up version of mw1, which every cod other game since mw1 have been, it's fun, it's arcade-ish, oh and you get to swear a lot / to be sworn a lot, which is always welcome... :)

It's the best COD yet by far (hated MW3), the only maps I enjoyed were in Black Ops, and the airport map from MW2 - Black Ops 2 maps do NOT disappoint, very happy with it and zombies is the best its ever been, no contest. Pick 10 feature for customizing your class is really great as well. After watching some reviews you should see how good the game looks yourself.

Haven't bothered with that jive since the very first one on "World at War". The SpecOps on MW3 beats the flyin' **** out of Zombie mode IMO. More power to those who enjoy it, but I personally can't stand it and wish they wouldn't have wasted time adding it to yet ANOTHER game in the series, and had tried something different instead. As much as I hated MW3 MP (LOVED the Campaign Mode, however), and stopped playing it online competitively after a week, the SpecOps was a lot of fun.

Zombie stuff can toss salad. So bored with it.

Absolutely worth it, it's great, it offers TONS of game modes!

And Offline / Splitscreen Botmatches for just yourself or with friends to enjoy (Alone this fact is so worth it in my opinion)

Have just played 1 round offline in Zombies mode, but so far was fun as well. The perk and unlock system in MP is also interesting and has made it partially into SP as well.

Single Player Story Campaign starts a bit generic and boring, but as soon as I came to the future part it started to get interesting (not story, but gameplay wise, Milimeter Scanner comes to mind :D )

The graphics indeed are on a oooold ooold graphics engine, but they're far from being bad, they serve their purpose and for 1.5GB install space more you can download HD Textures if you want for free, which don't make a big difference though.

But the gameplay is awesome and missing this game is missing out on smething big. Especially because you said you haven't played the latest ones online you also shouldn't be affected from the "too much of the same" effect.

I'd say, GET it! You won't regret it! :)

Are you playing with HDMI? Do you have the correct settings on PS3, AND your TV? If you answer "No" or "I don't know" to either question, you should check that before assuming it's the game's fault. It looks GREAT on my 42" set with all of the proper settings in-line.

Watching TV and DvDs it looks great, watching Blu-Rays it looks amazing, Blops2 engine is many years old and it looks bad, also I'm guessing the Xbox version is a lot better graphics wise as the the Xbox version looked fine. Playing NFS: Most Wanted and it looks great with nice colour.

You can download HD Textures for PS3 as an extra.

Looks great on my 32", some of the fog in zombies mode can look a little ugly which is very minor, but that is the only thing I could say bad about the graphics. The game looks good and plays good.

I find the online quite fun. Not that different from MW3 but you know, if you want to play against the best players, likely they'll be playing this.

Underwhelmed with the zombies but personally I got burnt with them after the last map pack for Black Ops so I'm a bit jaded.

I actually prefer the survival mode in MW3 over zombies right now.
