This is what is included in the new dlc.

SOCOM 4 DLC Packs Announced - "Demolition" Free for New Players

Posted by Chris Roper, Community Manager, Zipper Interactive

The SOCOM franchise is a long and storied one, and today we're very happy to announce that we're revisiting its past and bringing back what is perhaps the series' most popular mode, "Demolition". Existing owners of SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs will be able to download the Demolition Pack for $9.99 with today's PlayStation Store publish, which brings with it not only the Demolition competitive multiplayer game type but new maps, weapons and character skins as well.

As a special promotional bonus starting tomorrow, new purchasers of SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs who buy the game at select retail partners will receive a free voucher for the Demolition Pack. When you buy the game new from Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop in the US or EB Games in Canada, be sure to ask for your free Demolition Pack code and then simply redeem the voucher on the PlayStation Network to download the pack at no additional charge. With SOCOM 4 now available at many retailers for $39.99 and with codes for both the Demolition Pack and SOCOM Pro Pack included for free, there's no better time to pick up the game.

In "Demolition", each team vies for control of a bomb placed on the map. Once a team grabs the bomb, they need to carry it into the opposing team's base, arm the bomb and defend it until the base is destroyed.

The Demolition Pack includes four new maps, two of which are returning ****cs -- "Bitter Jungle" and "Ruins". All four of these maps support not only the Demolition game type but many of the retail competitive modes as well. Additionally, six of the existing maps will support the Demolition game type, making for 10 total Demolition maps. Additionally, the Demolition Pack also includes two new weapons, the HS-C3 and 552, as well as six new multiplayer skins to choose from.

Demotion Pack Details

Included Maps:

"Departure" - Navigate trains and tunnels in this subway station as you hunt down the enemy.
"Overflow" - Both distanced and close-quarters combat take place around a massive dam.
"Bitter Jungle" - Get out of the city and into the jungle in this ****c SOCOM environment.
"Ruins" - Do battle in this ****c SOCOM map's ancient ruins.

Included Weapons:

HS-C3 - Low rate of fire but above average damage and very high accuracy.
552 - Average damage and firing rate, but very accurate when standing still.

Included Character Skins:

Specter
Jester
Bastion
Ahmed
Dimitri
Steiner

But that's not all!

In two weeks we'll also be expanding SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs' cooperative mode with the new Evac Co-op Pack. Available November 1st for $7.99, the Evac Co-op Pack will introduce the "Evac" cooperative mode and include a new cooperative map, two new weapons and six additional character skins.

In "Evac", players are caught behind enemy lines and must fight their way out alive. Your pick-up vehicle is on-route to a designated location, and it's up to you to fight your way there and defend the point until your exit arrives.

"Evac" works across the original six cooperative missions as well as the new "Onslaught" location included in this pack. "Onslaught" also supports the original "Espionage" and "Takedown" cooperative modes.

Evac Co-op Pack Details

Included Weapons:

AM50 - It doesn't carry many rounds and it's slow to fire, but the AM50 will kill with a single shot anywhere on an opponent's body.
M82A1A - A very low firing rate and lower than average ammo capacity is offset by the M82A1A's ability to take down an opponent with a single round.

Included Character Skins:

Hunter
Python
Mystic
Jalil
Nasir
Renzo

Earn Double XP Now!

To celebrate the release of the SOCOM 4 Demolition Pack we're running a Double XP event for the next week! All you have to do to claim your bonus is log in to SOCOM 4 and complete any competitive multiplayer game. That's it! We'll see you online, soldier.

Questions I post to everyone. Shouldn't this have been in Socom 4 day 1? And shouldn't this be free for everyone and NOT just people who are new too the series.

It's DLC. I don't like the idea of DLC overall, but to say it should be in the game from day 1 is kind of a lost cause at this point. Also didn't SOCOM 4 sell relatively poorly? Obviously they just want more sales, and to throw in an "extra" on new copies they think will get more people to buy the game. Pretty much the same idea as a GOTY or Ultimate edition, excep this promotion is just for just one DLC item instead of the whole bundle.

I bought SOCOM 4 on release, or should I say.... I made the error of buying SOCOM 4 on release, not sure if anyone else had the same problems but there was just something about the controls and buildof the game, especially some of the mission levels that I absolutely hated.

Some people are just really against DLC right? I mean this game has been out for months now so to say this content should have been in the game is a stretch.. The whole point of DLC is to expand the life of a game. But it seems unless its free people will claim it should have been on the disk. I know theres some things like RE5 Versus mode as an example that should have been on the disk. (200kb file) But i see nothing wrong with this, if fans want more maps/modes then im sure they will be happy to buy them.

Now what is a slap in the face is making the packs free to new buyers, it should have been for people who bought it on day one. Seriously who is going to buy Socom 4 when they are much better games coming out in the coming months?!? Socom 4 was a disaster, they tried to cater to the casul shooter fans way to much and in the process ruined Socom. Im sorry but giving away a DLC for free is not tricking anyone!

I found the controlls pretty smooth. But then the squad commands left alot to be desired. When you play on ELITE you really wish there were more command options for your squad other than to just basically place waypoints on the ground and point to enemies - there were certain spots were the AI just wasn't good enough. It was also hella annoying to intend to point out an enemy for your squad to shoot, but you accidentally give them a waypoint instead (basically meaning a suicide run for them). STUPID!!!

I thought multiplayer was "ok", and co-op was excellent but there wasn't much to it. Campaign was really the only thing that I was a little disappointed with - but then I was never a hardcore SOCOM player. I really didn't see why poeple were so down on the game, but it also wasn't quite all that I hoped for.

I just traded my copy in last week for $35 (thanks to a bonus program at best buy).

To be fair to SOCOM 4, this was the first gamein the series I had bought and it may not have been the best one to start of with as I seem to be in the minority of people that really disliked the game for the reasons I said, know a few complaints seemed to be about the differencence between this and it's predecessor.

I don't have an issue with it being DLC. I do have an issue with rewarding people who didn't support Zipper at launch while screwing over those who did. Socom Pro was a gigantic piece of crap that is only worse by this news.

SOCOM 4 is a slap in the face to SOCOM players in general. If it is free to anyone it should be free to all since it is the go to mode for SOCOM.

Yea I was pretty pissed about this. This makes no sense on the moral side of things. Spit in the fans face that paid full price for a unfinished product. Give non-fans free map pack and they only had to pay 39.99. I'm not supporting Zipper on this one.

sadly this series isn't as good as it used to be.
