Today I bought a BRAND NEW Slim PSP and on the screen there's a little green anomaly. I want to know what it is and will it go away.

Thanks

It dounds like a dead pixel, and such a defect will not go away. If it's brand new, I would take it back to wherever you bought and get a replacement.

Don't settle for anything less than perfect. I went through 3 PSP 3000's until I was satisfied. Mine stll has flaws, but I can live with it. Keep on returning it unti you get a good one. Hopefully all the returns send a message to the new plant making the units.

You are exactly right. If I'm gonna pay $200 for a brand new system then I sure as heck am gonna get my money's worth.

If it is stuck on a certain color such as green it is a stuck pixel, not a dead pixel. Dead pixels appear as a black pixel instead of a colored one. The stuck pixels sometimes can be fixed but it takes a little program that flashes different colors very rapidly to energize or get the colors working again, I don't think you could get it on the psp. At any rate, I'd also return it for a different one. Also, are all psp 3000's loud when operating? Mine is very loud when the disc is spinning.

I'm not gonna try to fix it. A day-old brand new PSP is easier to replace than fix.

And BTW, just for everyone on this thread: I got my Slim PSP replaced with NO problems and it doesn't have that weird green thingy on the screen.

Concerning the noise issue, I've used 4 3000 units, 2 were really quiet, 1 loud, and 1 really screetchy loud.

I've seen a stuck pixel fixer for PSP. It's a webpage. ;)

It miiiight be against the rules to talk about here, because it involves a 3rd party program, (Free and legal) and putting it on the memory stick... So, you could find it yourself... :(

Take it back, it's brand new, it shouldn't have any sort of faults.
