Hey I have a 60 gig Ps3 and lately everything has been downloading really slow.... I've checked my Internet connection and my router and everything is working fine yet I'm supposed to have a 2 gig/sec download speed and its taking 25 min to download a 180mb trailer... anyone know anything that could help speed things back up or why its downloading so slow?
feel lucky, mine has always been slow and i pay top dollar for my internet becuase i do a lot of things. 1400mb DL takes me close to 3 hours if not longer to download sometimes its rediculous i know have to just pick all the DL i want and then do it while i sleep so i dont have to wait around for it
It's the internet.. speeds vary. Things will be slower as more and more people buy PS3s. It's called network traffic. Try dloading at 3am. Should be faster. Works for me.

That's the way I do my downloads. And when firmware updates are released if I don't get in within the first hour or so I wait a few days and the longest it takes is about 20 minutes to download and install anything.

Uhhh....2 gig/sec you say? If you have 2 hard drives in your pc, try moving a two gig file from one to the other and see if it doesn't take more than 1 second. A 2 megaBIT/sec line yes. 2 GigaBYTE line...no. A 10 megaBIT cable modem line can, at max speed, get around 1 megaBYTE per second download. So, with a little math, just divide that by 5 and you get about 200 kiloBYTE's per second download. Or around 1/5 of a megaBYTE per second max speed. SO...IF the 180 megaBYTE trailer would take a 10 meg cable modem 180 seconds, or 3 minutes, it should take you at the BEST 15 minutes. Go here and see what your speed is and post it on here. See what you actually have for a download speed. IF it's truely 2GB per second....I want what you got.

Yeah that is just highspeed internet. I have the same, and it takes about 10-15 minutes for trailers, sometimes faster. It just depends on your connection to their server really.
