SmackDown Vs Raw 2010 online question

My firned and I are trying to get a match going together online. I created a private match and sent a invite, but the invite just goes through the XMB msg system and nothing in game. I also tried creating a none private match and have him join and tried inviting him with no luck. I have had him do a match search for my name and the rom, but nothing. Can anyone let me know what we might be doing wrong?

Try doing a network test on your ps3, and tell me what NAT type it says. (NAT 1, 2 or 3).Exardious
