I bought it and tried it for just a second. The entire control theme kind of seemed clunky and weird. I never even got to the second city. I was considering returning it as I bought it used. And the stratagy guide. Which is terrible I might add so Ill be returning that no matter what.

Anyways I was wondering what the good aspects of wkc are because I listened to some of the music and.. well the music seemed pretty awesome lol.

Not just that but some of the scenes in the data utility looked badass. Sooo.

Is wkc worth keeping?

Game is definitely underrated by the likes of IGN and Gamespot, but at best it's a decent RPG. The coolest aspect of the game for me is the beautiful environments and monsters. They are just so colorful. WKC is definitely a good-looking game. The combat could have been a little more interesting, but it's not terrible either. The ability to create your own combos is pretty neat. The single player could be more challenging as well.

Have yet to play online, but apparently co-op is really fun and much more difficult. Really up to you if you want to keep it. I say it's worth giving at least a bit more of a shot before you decide to return it.

Yeah.

I mean Im all for old fashioined cleche storylines.

Its just the in game maps and other things. Kind of bug me. combat seems.. completely uninteresting.

Thats whats worrying me. If the storys there Ill probably be able to put up with it. But the combat... Please does it pick up at all?

Allright thanks that pretty much sums it up for me.

Thats just the one thing I really REALLY can't stand. Its got one of the most terrible combat systems in an rpg ive ever seen :(

I was really looking forward to the game too.

I'm a huge RPG and JRPG fan, but I really couldn't get into WKC. Yes, some of the environments were good looking, but there was a lot in the game that WASN'T good looking. Not to mention the fact that the lip syncing was noticeablyhorrible to the point where that was the only thing I was noticing during cutscenes. I couldn't stand the combat either. I loved FF12's combat which is what this one seems to be based on, but the whole "Wait till the bar fills then press X" thing instead of just letting your character automatically attack was really annoying. The 10 minutes I spent making a character was pointless too. Why did I spend all of the time making a character who doesn't even have anything to do with the story or any of the cutscenes?

Wkc is a grind-fest, which doesn't bother me i like the way everything works and i love the online potion of the game, if you can get into the story its a good single player run, but if you cant get used to the combat, i would say return it b/c it really doesn't change

I enjoyed WKC, for what it was. A "tide-me-over" RPG. The online co-op, while fun, is just basically an enormous grind fest. You basically redo "Big Red" hundreds of times, with the only reward being more missions that are similar to ones you've already done, revisiting places you've already been to in the game. I got bored after reaching GR9. Crappy thing is, the trophies require you to do all the grinding and mind melting gameplay over and over. I thought the environments and OST were fantastic though, probably the best I've seen this gen, though the character models were a step back.

The sequel has potential though, so I'm not writing off the series. They just gotta fix a lot of things, ditch the retarded combat system, and break out buckets of polish.

I agree with all of this especially the part about the sequel. Hopefully FF13 will force more JPG developers to step their game up for this gen. P.S. thanx for saving me the trouble of typing all that.

If you had any doubts about the game before you bought it, you should have just rented it.

Its got nice things going for it but without the online its a near-flop. Although a sequel would heave potential in the story department.
