So take a look at this:

http://kotaku.com/5604071/europes-gt5-collectors-edition-is-ridiculously-expensive?skyline=true&s=i

This signature edition of Gran Turismo 5 will set you back a whopping £150. For comparison's sake, you can buy a Wii and one game with that money in the UK. My question is this: do you guys routinely fork out the cash for special editions of games, no matter how ridiculously expensive they are? Or do you just buy the regular edition, get home and start playing?

I've never bought a special edition. I just like playing the game, not accumulating a bunch of extra crap. I've got enough clutter already.

Not really, though I did make it a priority to get the limited edition of BlazBlue: CT. It only cost me £17:D

The only real 'special edition' game I've ever bought was Demon's Souls : Black Phantom Edition. It came with an artbook and a strategyguideat a bargain price of £34.99! I'm glad I waited for theEU release, instead of importing the US version!

I bought the Madden 07 special edition, (only $10 extra and it came with a dvd) the GTA4 special edition, (which was about $30 extra and came with artwork, a cd, a box where you lock things in, and a carrying bag) and the MW2 hardened edition (which came with COD classic, a special case, and artwork)

Many special editions are rip-offs though, like the MW2 prestige edition (nightvision goggles?)

Some special editions however like Medal of Honor (comes with HD remake of Medal of Honor Frontlines and the Battlefield 3 beta) look worth it.

That is a ridiculously stupid price for a game and some trinkets.
