So how Come PS3 doesn't get almost any P33 Game Exlusive DLC?

Now I'm not talking about games like Fallout 3 or GTA4 exclusive DLC, I'm talking about Games like Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 (yes I know it just came out, but I haven't heard any plans to release anything yet, although feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) I just read an article about how GoW2 is getting another DLC pack (and just a little fyi before you flame me, I've had every Sony system since PS1 and prefer sony over M$ anyday, so don't call me a fanboy), and it made me question why our exclusives aren't getting the same treatment from the developers as the 360 exclusives are. Even games that flopped in some sense like Socom should be getting some kind of DLC. What are everyones thoughts about this, and has anyone heard anything about DLC for our games yet?

PS as I finished writing this I remembered like MGO has gotten a couple expansions, but those don't really count to me because as amazing as MGS4 was, MGO was not really that good.

Because Microsoft has a lot more money to throw around at developers to buy exclusives. It's all about money.

Because PS3 games don't NEED DLC. Sure we get some but the games are good enough out of the box. Warhawk got 3 if it makes you feel better.

Ahhh I totally forgot about Warhawk lol. I actually bought all those expansions, I just never play warhawk anymore...

UT3 has the Titan Pack for PS3 and patch 2.0 while Xbox 360 has nothing and no plans have been released.

So as long as you're not personally interested in it, it doesn't count obviously. Like LittleBigPlanet, Hot Shots Golf, BioShock, Disgaea 3 or, yes, even Haze.

Nope, mgs4 is a different story. Name any DLC for it's single player game that matters. spudsofpoo

LBP has DLC, and so will Killzone 2, its already confirmed. But unlike some other company and their games, the dlc is getting made right now, not when the game was launched.

And MGS4 has dlc, but I wouldn't recommend it, unless you really love the multiplayer that much.

things is most ps3 exclusive games have everything on the disc anyway, like the gta lost and the damned thing was actually meant to be on the disc, but because they had to gimp it for the xbox360 version they took it out and then microsoft paid them for some exclusive dlc which became that.

i am probably wrong about that actually the internet is a very confusing place.

Besides i am just glad that sony decides to spend money on making more games themselves rather than wasting that money on exclusive dlc.

Also i think the companies know they will actually sell the dlc this way, i mean a game is exclusive right so you think oh its tailored towards my console so i know that it will be made well, the same thing happens with exclusive dlc, also for someone who only owns an xbox360 then its like hmm i would be missing out if i didn't buy this exclusive since other people don't get to play it i feel special, gamers have low self esteem lol

no not about the money. sony's way of doing things is better than microsoft. i would rather get more new exclusive AAA games that freaking expansions.

360 get dlc gta ps3 get new game infamous

360 get halo 3 odst(expansoin of an outdated game) ps3 get a killzone 2

360 get demos 1 week earlier ps3 get online for free.

getting new FULL retail game is a much better deal than wasting money on exclusive contents on games that people already played anf forgot about

maybe its because sony realise that if you buy a dlc your less likeley to spend money on another full release game... nah that is silly.

besides killzone 2 dlc is coming nobody knows what it is though, probably some more maps at least. Although i do not own killzone 2 i hope the make it free...

id say because the sony exclusives are finished games and already have modes which were planned for the games, if you look at the games that get DLC you will find this running trend were almost all of the games are uncompleted, bugged, and so on. for example Tomb raider underworld was supposed to have the DLC init to begin with but they cut it out.

well i agree to you saying microsofthave too much money to throw around but..... im using vista on a £700 computer and it cant run media player without stalling

they need to make some decent hardware before throwing around therir cash

it all goes back to developers don't care they have your money why spend more time on it. Not everyone will download it so they think it's a waist of time.

Well, at the very least, I'm positve that Socom will get DLC.

I do wish we had the Fallout 3 and GTA IV DLC, but what can we do about it. :/

Well, TC wants DLC for Killzone 2, Resistance 2 and Socom and brings up Gears and Halo DLC, so I assume he primary wants multiplayer stuff.BenderUnit22

Well to be honest I would have got both the GTA 4 and the Fallout 3 DLC if they were available but I won't lose sleep over it.

The only PS3 exclusives I have bought DLC for are LBP, Warhawk and PAIN (regrettably)

I agree with you, but I must say you are partially correct. I've been reading a lot through net foruns and what I've learned is that everyone that hasn't yet bought a console in this gen, tends to favor 360, among other reasons, because of the third party dlc games, like GTA4 and fallout3. And many of this consumers wuld have bought a PS3 instead if it had more DLCs. So yes you are right, but we must put the third party DLCs into this equantion.
