1) Do you specifically try to get trophies, or do you just accept what you are given?

2) How many platinum's do you have?

I never used to try to get either trophies or achievements but I've figured it would help me play my games for longer and get the best value for money, so I've started actually trying to get trophies now. I have 30 games on my trophy list, but only one platinum so far.

It depends on the game, often I will do a few things out of the ordinary to get the odd trophy. I have 3 plats as it stands now.

Same here, I get trophies for replay value, I don't buy games precisely for trophies, though I hate online trophies and tend to not bother getting trophies from a game that I won't get the platinum for because of online trophies or whatever.....

I only have 4 platinums since I rarely buy games, I only bought 5 this year.

Platinums: Resident Evil 5, Uncharted, Uncharted2 andAssassin's Creed 2.

1. First playthough, I take whatever I'm given. It's all about the story and having fun. The second playthrough is all about Trophies. In the case of each Uncharted, I played through twice, once on Normal then Hard before even caring about finding every single treasure. I saved that for my final Crushing run.

2. I'm currently at 4 Platinums: Fallout 3, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (unlocked in that order). Currently, my next closest Platinums are probably for Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, and Burnout Paradise.

Sidenote, I die a little inside when people go out of their way to Platinum easy, crappy games to pad their Trophy stats. Buy and Platinum games you like. Seriously.

1) I used to be a big trophy hunter but got tired of doing some of the tedious tasks that games would require. I will only platinum games now that I really enjoy and have a reasonable challenge in getting the platinum.

2) I currently have 20 platinums

I honestly dont care. Im all for the achievements as they are like *blonk* "HEY WOW YOU DONE SOMETHING, WELL DONE" or atleast thats what it feels like. Sonys just seems be like *blink* yeah... good job... you know we are only saying this because you wanted a trophy system like microsofts. Im not a fanboy to any system thats just what it feels like to me. Not only that you cant be proud and show your friends and its not as integrated as lives. I guess im happy to get them though.... either system... I just dont feel like Ive done something when I get a 'trophy' like i do with an 'achievement'.

I'm not gonna say I agree or disagree since it's subjective, but this would only be a viable response in System Wars.

I'm far from a "trophy hunter," I haven't even received my first platinum trophy, though I am one or two trophies away from unlocking it on Battlefield 1943, which I suppose is better than not having any platinums at all.

Sometimes I go for the platinums, but as of late I have been too busy just playing games normally to get all my trophies.

I have 3 Platinums (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Lord of the Rings: Conquest, and inFAMOUS)

Still need to get the platinums on Uncharted: Among Thieves (67%)and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (83%)

I have none, and I don't go out of my way to get trophies (most of the time, unless they're very easy to get).

Sorry to tell you, but BF 1943 doesn't offer a Platinum trophy. I know because I have 100% of the trophies for that game.

And I have four platinums.

1. Yeah, I attempt most, if not all of the trophies for each game. I'll likely skip the multiplayer trophies and certain 'complete the game on the hardest setting' trophies. I'm not good enough at Uncharted 2 to complete the game on hard or crushing. ;_;

2. Currently have three games that support trophies, and have acquired the platinum trophy from two of them. However, I can't really say the Prince of Persia one was earned legit. There's a bug with the current patch that always awards two trophies at the end of the game, regardless of whether you met the requirements or not. I know for a fact I did not meet these requirements, but I received the trophies anyway. Doesn't look like Ubisoft has any intention to fix this error either.

Lately, I've stopped caring about earning trophies, or going for platinums. I kinda just took a step back and thought, 'do the number of trophies and platinums I have really matter?'

The answer of course, is absolutely not. I don't care about earning trophies anymore. Basically, if I unlock one, it's not because I tried to earn it.

To answer the other question, I have 5 platinums.

Really easy actually, even if you want to have bad karma. Just save, donate money to the guy with The Church of Atom, then kill everybody at Paradise Falls for exp. (no karma loss).

Yeah thats what i did pretty much. I guess i wasn't clear.

What i was trying to say was for a long game like Fallout 3 i wouldn't want to play it multiple times for all those good/bad/neutral karma trophies at various levels. But otherwise for a game like UnchartedI played it on normal, hard and crushing because its not very long.

Yeah, I pretty much stayed good the whole time. Knowing about the trophies, I made sure to have game saves at Level 7, 13, and 19. After that, all you gotta do is something horrendous until you get to the appropriate level. It won't let you finish leveling (i.e. choose perks and add skill points) until you have no enemies around you, so even if you level up in the middle of a fight, you can keep going until your karma is low enough. I just get going to Megaton and murdering everyone. Once my karma was neutral, I ran, haha.

Always focusing on trophies ruins the fun of the game.

I agree. Trophies, however, are my secondary focus. My first playthrough, I don't even think about them. There are some exceptions. I got some of the random Batman ones during my first playthrough because I thought they'd be fun to try, like the "Rope-A-Dope-A-Dope" trophy.

Uncharted 2 I beat 3 times before getting the Platinum. Once on Normal just finding what treasures I could, again on Hard trying to find more treasures by myself, then on my third playthrough on Crushing I used a walkthrough to find the other treasures. I'm okay with using walkthroughs, but not until I've given it a sincere effort myself. I know a few people that'll use a walkthrough on the first playthrough. I don't really see the point. Why play the game if you're not gonna explore it yourself for the first time?

I have exactly ZERO Platinums :P I don't really try for trophies though (or achievements for that matter). I usually just take what I get through normally playing the game and if I see an easy one or one that sounds fun I MIGHT try for it, but even then I usually just pass over them. I want to try and make FFXIII my first Plat though. Its the game I've been the most excited for so it seems like a nice choice for my first Plat. I just hope its not too hard :P
