well i am planning on selling my xbox360. and i want to get the playstation 3. but one of the reason i want to get the ps3 is because you can browse the web if iam not mistaken, but please tell me if it would be a great idea on getting this system! i am excited on trying this system out! the xbox360 is really awesome! you can do everything! but not browse the web!!! that sucks!:( but please people respond!
ive never had a problem with it it works fine on youtube... u can even load up flash games/movies from sites like newgrounds but since i dotn have a keyboard hooked up to my ps3 im not sure how the games run
It's functional. If you have a mouse and keyboard it's actually pretty good. Sites take a while to load though, and some things won't play, but flash is fully supported, so its not bad. It's better than the PSP or Wii browser, but it still sucks compared to IE or Firefox.
that sounds good! but has anyone tried going to myspace??? or ebaumsworld??? dats where all the good stuff are! the only reason i want the web browser is to go on myspace and just check my comments and reply to my friends! i hhope that would work! this didnt work on my psp:(

after the update to 1.51, my internet browser works increadibly well. I dont know what happened, but its fast now. I love using it to watch videos on you tube and peekvid (specially when i can make the video fullscreen while zooming in with square and r2)

I am not all that impressed with the web browser, it is slow. Â Any basic PC will be better for web browsing. But if you don't have a PC it will do. If you have a PC then don't get a PS3 just because you want to surf the web.

well no ones going to get it just for that have you noticed increased speeds in the browser lately? Mines been flying, even peekvid works flawlessly now.

myspace works on PSP...I tryed and even replyed to someone...even thogh I hate myspace I ent to it cause its a heavy traffic site andI wanted to see how much it could handdle My PSP wne to myspace and it works
As long as u have a keyboard it rocks. After you get to know the controller hot keys. If you visit a website, lets say a porn site, not that I visit any. :/ If you download a video it saves it to ur video folder on ur PS3's main user panel of Videos, pictures etc. Best part is no cookies to delete since as soon as u leave a site it is completely erased from the ps3.
well i have dsl! it pretty fast! hopefully when i get the ps3 the internet will be pretty fast! but i have noticed dat sony wanted to make this machine more like a computer........dont you guys think that??
If you want a PS3 for gaming, go for it, as far as web browser goes, I think it sucks, takes 2-3 times longer than computer, whole thing needs re-designed to be more functional/user friendly. I thought it would be so cool, tried it 4 times & never messed with it again.
Like some1 said, it's "functional," as is anything else online-capable on the PS3, but it has certain limits. Font is small, for example. A blu-ray keyboard would be more convenient. Can't dl stuff off teh internet (I tried to attach pics from my photo section in my Ps3 to my hotmail, but it wouldn't lemme). Yeah, so it has limits...honestly, it's not really worth getting a PS3 for, and in fact it's not really worth mentioning. Why not use your own comp to browse the internet, which has no restrictions? Â

I wanna restate whast I said earlier about the cookies. It does record the site you went to, and addes it to a history tab. Which you can delete individually or all togather. Other then that it delets all macro and webpage programming as soon as you leave a certain webpage, which is why it takes 2 or 3 seconds longer to download then on a regular pc that has all it all the time. Funny how someone tried to add a picture to their Hotmail attachments from the PS3 pictures panel, to bad that didn't work, but then again with the web browsing to bad we didn't get a ps3 email. But that would have costed us a yearly fee for sure. When hot classics start showing up on the ps3 store, is when I'll start buying them. Though I sorta want s. Filter and Medevil right now. But definitely going going to buy the new Tekken 5 game when it comes out around Feb 25th. And here is one advantage for movie lovers. Sony is in the movie business so you get lots of downloadable trailers, if only more would show up then you might except Microsoft to have available. I even heard "rumors" of Apple joining with Sony.  Not sure on that though. One thing I couldn't do on my PS3 online was download music from Napster because it requires you to download a program for downloading. Now if a song was on some random page then yea I'm sure you could.Â
well what up with linux?? you can actually download this to your ps3?? well hey! i was just curious.... on the playstation 3 you can go online and browse the web! but can you actually go online and save things to your hard drive?? or can you actually go online and go to yahoo music and just listen to some music?? or even listen to and online radio station?? please leave me some feedback!! well my friend told me that he can actually go to yahoo Music and listen in the radio station!:) thats pretty cool! can anyone who has a ps3 try that out for me?? i just want to know that if going to yahoo music really works! i would really appreciated!
