I completely agree with you. Personally the game looks fantastic and the single player is fun to play but it has a rather lame story or should I say rather uninspiring story. I think they really dropped the ball on certain aspects, story for one and especially the controller/multiplayer setup.
First, the fact that you can only carry one main firearm at a time is garbage. You should be able to pick up a fallen team-mate/Enemy's weapon.
Second, the fact that you cannot fully customize your controller layout is just plain stupid, especially in this day and age.
Third and my biggest pet peeve is the sensitivity settings. As a person who likes the sensitivity relatively low trying to play this game is next to impossible. If you have the sensitivity turned down it's workable during the aiming mode as I find the weapons jump all over the place otherwise but trying to run around and navigate the worlds is next to impossible. Most of the time when I'm running around I end up getting waxed because I can't turn quick enough which is so annoying. If I do increase sensitivity moving around is great but trying to fire the gun in the either the aim mode or the freelance is next impossible. It jumps all over the screen and you end up just getting so frustrated that you want to stop playing. I find that 90% of the kills take place 2 feet apart, trying to hit anybody at a distance is next to impossible.
Look I know each to his own but being a 1st person connoisseur, I own (Resistance 1 & 2, FC2, COD 4, COD WAW, and Bioshock) I think I've become a pretty good judge of what I like and Killzone 2 while a very pretty game lacks some of the basics that could have made this a system seller. In order to have a great game it has to have a gripping story and fun to play and Killzone 2 while looking wonderful does not have a great story and is not very fun to play in the multiplayer.

i find that extremely unaccurate. first of all, just because you cant spin and run at lightning speed, like cod4, and jump n loft 30 ft in the air like halo, does not make a game annoying it makes it more realistic. im so sure that master chief is SUCHA good shot that every bullet goes where the recticle is, and im even more convinved that marines carrying RPGs on their baks in cod4 can turn an look just as fast witha guy holding a pistol and nothing else
and for not being able to kill anyone at a distance, thats entirely a lack of skill. its called burst fire. utilize it. i bet u stand on the roof of that building on the crsh map in cod4 witha rpd n get mad u cant kill anyone on the ground. shoot in bursts so ur shot groupins are better and u WILL get kills.
it has a realistic sense of weight (trying holding an actual shotgun witha gear on and see how fast u can turn and how high u can jump) and its notta "aim here n ur targets dead" kinda game. ull get used to the controls, guaranteed, and just shoot in burst first. no one in their right mind goes full auto on a target thats too far away.
and u CAN pick up a fallen teamates gun; it just replaces the main gun u have. again, think realism. thats how it is in cod4 too. one big gun, one pistol. no soldier runs around witha m16, an ak, an rpg, claymores, grenades, and ammo for all of them.
just bc this doesnt play like every other game shouldnt not annoy people. if anything this is a testament to how derivative fps's are compared to killzone 2
