So i just got myself a ps3..

after 9 month with a dvd eating xbox 360, i finally sold my xbox and bought myself a playstation 3 off amazon.

I must admit, i'm suprised i actually like it more - things i've never really cared much about actually did make some sense:

Lighter joystick, it's not that i'm a weakling but it's just more pleasent to be holding the sixaxis controller and as i used to own a ps1+2 the controller feels more familiar to me then the xbox joystick.

The console itself aint as loud as the xbox 360, i used to have the premium version without HDMI port, so this it the biggest plus - you just cant "Turn up the volume!" that wont cut it.

A somewhat easier/more pleasent menu.

I'm not here to make a flamewar, or say the xbox was/is a bad console - i do like it but those small points i've just made actually does make sense although they are small.

I especially like to actually just be on the menu without having the sound of an airplane taking off, no kidding!

Oh well, i'm really glad that i bought the ps3, i've just finished MGS4 last night and what a superb game, although i must admit the ending wasn't what i was hoping for and some of the romances was .. well they just made a big seen out of nothing big IMO, but that' not what i want to discuss now - overall the game was superb and now that i've finished it, i hope they make something more in the MGS universe (:

I've started the Battlefield: bad company campaign, a little repetetiv but good anyway.

I've ordered Call of Duty4, I simply couldn't let go of it's multiplayer, lol s: i'm looking forward starting all over with the newbs, again, hah.

I've bought Resistance: fall of men, havent played it yet though but i've mostly bought it because the sequal looks interesting.

So if there's any game that you can recommend i should be getting for my new playstation just bring 'em.

BTW - my PSN name is SteffenD89 - add me if you want so that we can play some Bad company of CoD4 when it arives.

Of yeah one more thing, i ordered my Playstation 3 via amazon, guess what, they made a mistake so i'm the proud owner of 2 ps3 consoles instead of only one, and i've only payed for 1 console.

Ha good decision the PS3 has alot going for itself! And you won't get screwed out of 10 $ for online play 'HEY THATS A CONCEPT'... In any case the PS3 is a little low on quality games other then shooters atm but that will change soon enough.

If you haven't played Oblivion yet get that one for sure awesome game! You can't go wrong with COD4 as the multiplayer will keep you hooked for hours and hours!

I'll check out that horror game, if i dare lol, i'm not much of a horror game fan (had to force myself to complete Silent hill 2, on the ps2:oops: )

Ratchet it cheap now, so i might dig into that when i'm done with battlefield and resistance.

A friend of mine already owns Uncharted and GT5:P so i might burrow them from him, i dont see myself buying GT5:P, as i really just do feel like it's a big demo or whatever you'd be calling it.

Baseball aint my cup of tea, although maybe Fifa 08/09 might be interesting if i was to buy a sports game.

Oh yeah - the second ps3 will be sold in a matter of weeks, i'll just wait some time so that i dont sell the console and amazon realizes the i'm the one that got it, and they want it back :D

I'll probaly be able to sell it for full price as sony has shut down production of ps3's in Europe :/ There's alot of people out there just waiting to get their hands on a ps3 (: the time is just right lol.

ps3 history. 2007, ok. 2008, very nice. 2009, will most likely be greatness, and will continue. i think you made the right choice. ;)

oh and get warhawk. i hear its tough at the beginning but gets addictingonce you get used to it. and im getting it today :D

That's what i was told.

In Denmark, if you look in the stores, there's not a single playstation 3 to be sold at all, and no on the web neither, only used ps3's sold to a redicules overprise (:

So i bought mine from amazon.uk.co and had it within 2 days.

but that wasn't why i created thise thread lol. :)

btw - i was really just looking for a bluray playe in the beginning,as i'm doing a massive upgrade on my homecinema/hifi/gaming stuff room.

so the ps3 was practicly a bluray player + a free gaming console :) The ps3's player is the best out there for that amount of money, untill panasonic's BD50 lowers it price.

For an RPG, Disgaea comes out in about two weeks and that game has about 2000 hours of replay value its not even funny, lol.Zidaneski

I do like JRPG's because they make some good stories, but i dont like the whole thing about using teens and kids as characters. :)

I will say that selling the XBox would have been a mistake for me, as there are games like that I love like Gears, ME, COD 2, and Forza that I cannot get on the PS3. I just bought my PS3 just a week ago. Like you, I underestimated how good the console is. I think you're right - it's the little things. I love the built in charger for the controller, the weight and feel of the controller, the free online service, the quietness of the unit, the built-in wireless, the BLU-RAY, and the kick-butt exclusives that the console provides. I heard from everybody that the multiplats are slightly better on the XBox, so as of now, it's still my primary console, but I'm seriously considering switching that up if the gameplay and graphics are really equal. When you get COD 4, send me a PM and let me know how it stacks up. Since you've had time with both, you'd be in a good position to let me know.

Oh, and by the way, Uncharted is off-the-charts incredible and I'm having a great time playing Heavenly Sword.

get uncharted..just got it..really good game..resistance 2 is coming out soon...u should download the stranglehold demo from the playstation store and if u like it so buy it...I just bought it a few days ago together with uncharted..also a good game..oh and resident evil 5 is coming soon...and god of war 3 :)

ps3 is a great system with lots of games to come, your lucky u got one know i got a launch system that set me back some $$$$ lol

yeah i payed the full price when it was released for the xbox, such a waist of money, especially as there is no splitscreen.. blah.. I'm absolutly not getting that game for the ps3. :)

Definatly have to go with Warhawk and Uncharted.

These are great game for one, and are a great start to every players trophy collection (when the Warhawk patch comes out of Aug 27).
