:( my friend told me the game is great, well for the least part, the story is fun. even though i haven't beaten it yet but the gameplay is not as fun as the other ones. The online, well since its the first time its average. I knew i should have bought oblivion lol, their is something missing. how do you guys feel, last time i buy a game that my friends say is good or a "10" rating, Only MGS4 deserves that number/grade. i bought it last week and have only played it 3 times....
Yup, you should have got Oblivion, hehehehehehehhehehehehehehehehehehheheheheheheh. Try trading in GTA4 if you don't want it...you should be able to get a reasonable amount of money from EB Games because GTA4 is still very popular.
Yeah i was a little disapointed but for what GTAIV was trying to be it succeeded. I think R* wanted GTAIV to be realistic and well they succeeded to an extent. Physics, characters, and as small as the inability to drive motocycles really fast without being roadkill. I agree with you its just not as fun as say VC or SA but it did great for what it wanted to be, and that is to be taken seriously. I mean how could you take SA seriously half the game was a joke....you invade an Area 51 type base and steal a jetpack from them or you go to a Battlecruiser and steal a Fighter jet. It was just a huge joke but fun at that...GTAIV wanted to be taken seriously rather than the joke of a character CJ was.
they wanted to improve the story which they did the game was too short to achieve the a good character development.. since each game has a different character to it. online was nice but still a bust, i liked the realism i still had fun playing it but the game lacked that feel of spending hours doing absolutely nothing, just running around goofing off.
there are a few reasons for this 1. the cops were too gay that whole cirlce was some bs and really why i stopped playing the game 2. expectations were not met, for some reason when a game is hyped and it fails to be that grand adventure a game that would be a 9 when you dont know anything about it becomes a 6.3. maybe we just outgrew gta
whatever the case may be i really havent had as much fun with any gta game since gta3 i still go back and play that! eh vice city and SA just i dont know the story ruined it for me too many bogus missions.
gta missions are boring all together... its either drive somebody over there... do this for him.. escort some one some where.. kill a few people.. drive your friends around some more -,-
You guys are crazy. I think GTA was great. The character design, like all the others, was great except this time they made the playable character Niko Belic totally awesome. I can't forget when they took Romon and Niko was going to get him back, the way the way he was screaming made it cool all together.
But in all things past, the most funny thing I've seen is when my girlfriend was playing. She hit a car, flew out through the windshield, the car exploded and launched her like 100 feet into the air over a building because we were ontop of the elevated highway. Excellent :p
i thought it was alright, not a 10 though. Oblivion is 2 years older, remember that. Not everyone gets into Oblivion. I couldn't get into Oblivion even though I like rpgs.
GTA IV hate is so cliche. It's like the McCain of video games. Boo! Seriously, do some more research before buying games. It was well known what was included in the package. I'm glad I knew what I was getting, so I was satisfied. GTA IV is superb.

I learned a long time ago to first research a game that I think I might enjoy, and if after rooting around a bit, I still don't feel 100% that it'll be worth the money, I rent the game first, then buy it. Along the same lines, demos, videos and forums like these are your best friends before spending $59+ on a game you may not like.
To each his own I suppose. But I really dont see how you can not like GTA4. Regardless of genre preference some games are just awesome. I think GTA4 is one of those games.
The only reason I'll keep GTA4 is because I find online - Free Mode fun as hell(can be very crazy) and in-case I get bored, I just find more and more unique ways to kill people and myself :D

I agree. Except McCaini suckors. GTA IV was amazing. My second favorite game this gen next to MGS4. GTA IV was an amazing experiance. The 360 version rules but maybe the PS3 verson is broken. GTA FTW.

agreed online is pretty lame.. maybe go for a drive in the realistic city..about it admittedly i enjoyed the time i spent playing some frustrating moments but no game is perfect.. mgs4 comes close though :P
you must live with you grand mother or something. you are ridiculous. i mean you should be removed from the forum. i cant believve it, it is the best game ever ever ever ever release since playstation 2 . what else could be missing gta has kept their place on top all the time and they keep making it better, if you see this sotrline is more realistic and this time you are not that up to the money but for what has happened in your life. i mean are you crazy you should be banned for life on psn on gamespot on starbucks wherever you go you should be banned. anyway it is your opinion but that game should be worth more than 60 dollars
yeah, i agree it was a let down overall with so much hype. the first few hours and missions were pretty fun but it just didnt hold up for me.
im hoping that the ps3 gets some trophy support for it cause then at least i will have a reason to go back and try for some trophies. has anybody heard anything about possible trophies?

You didn't waste 55 bucks on GTA IV. Its one of the greatest games of all time.

I am surprised Rockstar let us down this time. Vice City and San Andreas were a lot more fun. GTAIV is BORING. I love the series, but this game disappointed me big time.
