So.. if the Aussie version of GTA IV is more 'child friendly' then...

this might solve my problem. Okay so i really want GTA 4 but sincy PS3 is in my living room (where my HDTV is) and as such considering the violent/sexual content of the game is not really appropriate for that environment considerng the rest of my family often watch and i don't think they'd appreciate me killing prostitutes and constant swearing. SO, does anyone have any details on how the Aussie version is toned down? Because surely this solves my problem, the violence/swearing/sexual content has probably been toned down and so unless anyway can give me the specifics how much it has been reduced then this might just be for me.

Didn't think i'd ever import a game specifically from Australia lol.

it still there, just more "subtle" probably.

i'm pretty sure that any moaning sounds or excessive blood splatter will have been remoaved though.

They'll probably just make like they did with Hot Coffee and put it in as a hidden, "incomplete" part of the Australian code.

I don't think it will be much more 'child friendly'. It will still be completely brutal, but I have an idea about how to solve your problem. Don't pick up/ kill prostitutes around your family!

Ive got the exact same problem unfortubatley i wud probaly hav 2 just skip those scenes with the sexual content but swearin ill turn down the volume and my mum doesnt bother bout the murder and blood.

[EDIT] i like partially liv in australia aswell and i cud get my fam 2 u no buy me a copy frm there shud probaly take the exact same tym 4 u to buy and import it but i think it wud b a waste of precious time!! im just gonna liv wit it.

Unfortunately I highly doubt GTAIV will be toned down much at all. Some specific words or sound might be slightly adjusted but the core gameplay of GTA was always focused on violence and freedom to do it anyway you want.

In this matter GTAIV will be "bigger" then previous installations. If you are not old enough to play the game or your parents won't allow you to play it I wouldn't suggest you go against their will, it usually leads to more problems. ^_^
