So I'm not seeing threads about the popularity of Lair in Japan...

Lair (Return from Lair in Japan) got a 33/40 from Famitsu, Japan's leading gaming magazine.

This reminds me of Okami, how unpopular it was in Japan and in the US it was a contender for game of the year.

I personally didn't think Lair was bad at all, I'm just surprised at how bad the ratings were. To me it wasn't as bad as 5/10 or 4.5, at the lowest I'd give it a 7.5. The controls took advantage of the SIXAXIS and it was pretty fun playing it.

All those bad reviews made me stay away from that game but maybe I should rent it and give it a try.

Do you think Lair 1 was good enough to justify a sequel? Lair would have been so much better if theyenabled more control options. I rented it and the camera angles seemed quirky, game seemed kind of rushed.

Actually the name is "Rise From Lair" and going on about "the popularity" of the game in Japan just because of Famitsu's score is beyond stupid. The sales of the game will determiine popularity.
