im a lil confused on the issue...

The 40gb is the only model that cannot play any PS2 games, though it supposedly plays PSone games.
The 20gb, 60gb and 80gb play PS2 and PSone games, though the 80gb loses the Emotion Engine included in the 20gb and 60gb which lowers it's backwards compatibility a bit, but it still plays a huge number of PS2 games.
Now, please correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I read at Gamestop. They had a poster board for the 80gig PS3 & the 40gig PS3. Below at each of the poster boards had a disclaimer about each system. Now, I can't spill it out word for word, but I'll do my best on what I remember. For the 40gig PS3, it said & I quote, "Limited compatibility with PSONE & PS2 games. An update may increase number of games compatible with console." It was the same "meaning" for the 80gig but the disclaimer used different words.
If someone does have a 40gig & would like to tell us if PSONE or PS2 games work on it..... well please let us know! It would be much helpful then a disclaimer from Sony.
ok and where can i get a ps3 60gb, i can't find them anywhere...GeorgeyBoy515
60 gb is hard to get so, get the 80 gb. It can still play at least 80% of the ps2 games which includes all the good ones. It just doesn't play games like stuart little 2. :) u no what i mean
