I have a PS3 40gb, but i really would love to have BC considering my PS2 died a long time ago
Do the 160gb or gray MGS4 ones have it?

No it doesn't
Unfortunately it looks like Sony are slowly getting rid of BC and just focusing on soley the PS3
but, i forgot to add this, the MGS4 80G bundle does support BCPuscifer_No1Really, are you 100% sure? Can you confirm this, i live in UK
well if you already have a ps3, then just get another ps2, instead of another ps3AndrovinusWell i actually want one to take to university, the other is my brothers but we share all our stuff so its no problem, only problem is that im 220 miles away from home:?
But yes, was upset that MS went the same way with the 360 after how steadily the list on that grew:(
well that put's things in a different perspective, since I live in the states, but I'm British :p
I'm pretty sure it should work, I've purchased 15+ PS2 games and all of them work on my PS3 and the oldest PS2 game I have is Final Fantasy X
good thing i have original 60 gb :D i can play mgs essential collection 24/7417alum
Same here, being an early adopter wasn't that bad this time around
I bet that if someone were to go back through EVERY page of the PS3 forum, you'd find this question.
See my sig for my opinion of BC and the PS3.
The 80GB MGS4 Bundle is the only version of the PS3 that you can find at stores with BC. By the way, this model is no longer in production so stores are basically selling off what's left of what was made. The only PS3 versions currently in production are the new 80GB and the 160GB, both of which are completely without BC.
Otherwise, you'll have to look online for a used 20GB or 60GB which are actually at reasonable prices now. If you can do a wired connection then I recommend the 20GB because it's cheaper, and you can eventually buy a wireless adapter and a bigger HDD if you want to.
For more PS3 information, use my Official PS3 FAQ Thread which I've linked in my sig and have also bumped to the first page. You can find all of this information, and much much more, in that thread.
Getting rid of ps2 BC was a big mistake for sony in my eyes. I had a pal 40gb ps3 and loved it,but even with the ace new games on it i did miss some of the old classics,ps1 games do play fine on all ps3s though.
The main problem with people saying "just buy a ps2" is that when the ps2s are connected to a HD tv the games look absolute rubbish!!! Due to the higher resolution showing all those nasty jaggies etc.
I bought a 60gb pal ps3 and was really happy the way it played ps2 games,it upscales them to HD and they look great, though not quite as good as on a SD tv in my opinion.
Sony really should offer a BC console in the future, especially as software emulation (like the pal 60gb ps3s even though they still use a graphics processor for the ps3) would make it cheaper and people would be willing to pay extra. In my eyes sony just want you to pay for the new ps3 games, though once sales rise in the future they may start offering BC again.
