So many good games coming out...Not every good game will sell well

Lets see here there is burnout 5, DMC4, GTA4, MGS4, Haze, Killzone 2, Drake's fortune, Assassins Creed, Army of two, Socom Confrontation, Tekken 6, eight days if it comes out in the fall, and there are probably some others. I know I would like to play fetal inertia as well but I probably won't get the chance with all these good games on the way. Thats 12 games I list so 12x60=720. I might be able to buy about 6-8 games but I going to have to limit my selection.  

Also you can add Heavenly Sword to the list as well which makes the total come out to 780 and that doesn't inclued tax of about $5 per a game so 13x5=65 so 780+65=845.  Its getting really pricy and I'm having a hard time wondering what will happen because of this...It may lead to some really good games getting weak sales due to the competition it will be interesting to see how things turn out but not everyone that makes a good game this time around will come out a winner.

I don't know but I would find the time somewhere to play over the course of a year but its the fact that there are so many good games on the horizon that someone that makes a good game is possible to recieve poor sales compared to another game.  Ex. Heavenly Sword sales could drop big time by the time Assassins, MGS4, GTA4, and Drakes fortune are out.

I don't like to rent.  I like to buy them in case I want to play them again.

In the mist of all those games I have yet to mention Little Big Planet and UT3 which those might not be out till 2008 but still they are not far away from being released when those games get released.

Dont forget LAIR too.

I know Ill buy some, but Ill also rent some..and use no late fees to my advantage :) .

I'm getting all those games and more!!! i've got about 25 games on my list this year, simple its called a JOB!

plus i still got 70+ PS2 games which thanfully i've put off trading in strictly due to the fact that i knew lots of games were on the way.

It`s all about timing they will hold back on the release of there game, to make sure no other game is released the same week.

What about the PS2 era? Which game did not sell like it should have? 

Good games will sell.  Stores offering rentals have to purchase at least 5 copies of the greater games (just an avg.), worldwide that makes a pretty big number.

No need to worry, buy the ones you can't wait to play, once you are done with them, buy the ones you've missed from the rental stores who probably won't need 5 copies for each great game anymore.

Yeah I know its called a job but not everyone makes same amount of money per an hour you see.  I'm still in college so many is tight and a good maybe impossible to get compared to someone with a degree.

Complain,complain,complain,,, that's all I ever see on these boards.Explain to me how some games will suffer due to other games coming out?.Not everyone have the same taste in games you know.People wil get the games that only appeal to them and that's that( some people on here make a big deal out of nothing ).bluegender

I can give you a really good example to respond to your comment.  For example, Heavenly Sword will be released in August most likely but it will probably see a huge drop in sales by the time GTA4, DMC4, Assassins, MGS4, and Drake's Fortune are out.  With those games being out along with Heavenly Sword well if you only had $180 to spend well you probably pick the 3 best games out of the ones I listed which I will take a guess are going to be MGS4, GTA4, and Drake's Fortune or Assassins.  You wouldn't be as willing to buy Heavenly Sword over MGS4 or GTA4 in most cases if the games turn out as they are expected to but only time will tell how good of a game HS will be.
