I've heard quite a few things about this and how the beta was in SD when the retail is HD. I know many went out to get this at midnight so those that have it probably aren;t on here lol but if you are let me have your feedback. Thanks!

I'm enjoying it so far. I played 5 multiplayer matches and they were exactly the kind of intensity you'd expect from a Battlefield title. There's a bit of server lag at the moment, but nothing game breaking. All the little bugs, glitches, and general annoyances of the beta are gone. It runs pretty smoothly and from the looks of things it's going to take quite a while unlocking everything. I also look forward to people learning to fly.
I played the opening level and it was fun, but just not really what you'd expect from Battlefield (what does one expect from a Battlefield campaign though?). I don't know, if I was a single player only type of guy I wouldn't really bother.
You going to midnight release mate? Btw, I heard a rumour that said Aussie servers won't go online till 9 o clock on the 27th. Have any idea if it's true? Not out in Aus yet, but itll be good.

Good so far. Had a little lag in a game or two. The game is very realistic so far. Player movement and weapon kickback. I'm not sure if they have it or not but I was looking for a hardcore mode and didn't find it.

Aussie servers? :? I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure we're usually thrown on UK servers. I mean, if any other console title is an indication.

Dont really care what server it is, cos more than likely, I'll end up playing on US/Japan or even UK servers with a modified router ;)
Check the PC Games board if you really want to play online if the servers are down.
Yeah I saw the same. I like they are back to kickback and movement on weapons...none of this Bad Company no recoil stuff. Some weapons kick worse that others of course, but thats always been the case in BF. The Squad play is a drag though. Its that same auto assigning of squads like in Bad Co 2 which never worked well there either. Why they cant have custom squads or let you move from squad to squad in between games is beyond me. Other games do it. It causes this game to suffer greatly on consoles because squad play is huge in the PC game. Overall though, its definitely better than BC2 which I though was the most overrated game of last year. The maps are far better, more vehicle presence with added jets, proning is back, and the classes are better structured. Medic has a front line assault weapon again which was frustrating in Bad Company. Medic was always a front line kit in the PC games.Good so far. Had a little lag in a game or two. It might be Oceania Servers ... Hope it'll be online by midnight tonight.I have played about 10 matches of Team Deathmatch without a single problem. I also played a couple of campaign missions. So far the game is fantastic. Critics are bashing the campaign, but I enjoy it. It is definately more serious, but it should be. Save the comedy for the soldiers in Bad Company. The graphics are great and the gameplay is incredibly tight and fine tuned. If you are a competitive shooter fan just get it!

That's too bad.
Does it have one of those online pass POS schemes? I hate that crap.
I have a rental of this on the way. I can see the multiplayer maybe selling me on this but I'm not going to pay another $10 just to try it out.

I hate it too. As said above it does have one.
I just wanted to say that I really dislike online passes, but for a game I know I'm going to be playing for the next year or so I'm ok with it. Now Rage locking single player content out of the game? That was a bit more infuriating.

[QUOTE="mamkem6"]By waiting until it is released. I must confess this both confused and anoyed me. I never read anything that stated the Karkand pack wasnt with the game itself. The pre order quotes '' copy includes back to karkand bf2 maps at no extra charge'. To me, that states the maps are in the game on launch, but that isnt the case, we have to wait until they released it then get them for free. Thats great they are free, but came accross to me as devious with its wording, it implies you get them day one, but you dont. How to download back to karkand

Most games have scripted events to create moments of epicness. BF3's multiplayer has no scripted events whatsoever but is often times more epic than whatever alot of its competitors try to throw out. It's cool to run around hearing and seeing explosions everywhere and realizing everything is caused by some player.
Most multiplayer games don't have scripted moments. Other then some UT3 maps (looking at you Sandstorm) and Launch from black ops. All games have scripted moments to make epic moments in single player but not so much in multi. But i do agree with you at the end. It is cool to know that someone is determined enough to kill you that they will blow up a buidling or ten. Most games have scripted events to create moments of epicness. Yea I know most mp games don't have scipted events.
What I meant was, even without scripted events, a couple rounds of BF3's multiplayer is sometimes more epic than some entire single player campaigns.
When I was planting C4 on tanks in BF3 mp, I was reminded of doing it in CoD2 a long time ago (ah good times, before there were haters). But then I realized in CoD2, it was a specific moment in the campaign but in BF3, I could do it in every single match if I wanted to.

It is funny because they basically f-ed themselves.
The multiplayer might have convinced me to buy the game where the SP didn't.
It's pretty stupid of them to lock up the most marketable part of the game.
