Amen. Gamespot's article and video about it talked about everything people are whining about. The video specifically said that the in-game music was the dev's decision.

Wow you need to chill out and go back to your XBOX 360 forum. More Trophies for other games will be added. Everything has to start somewhere and games comming out will start to support it and eventually all new releases will I am sure. the music option is controlled by the makers of the game not sony, so of course the games won't support it yet but now the game makers have that option for the future. We know Super Stardust HD, Warhawk, Pixel Junk Eden and Resistance 2 will all have it and that is a good start![QUOTE="cloud345"]

Once a game is patched for the trophy support, then you can earn them. Currently the only game with a patch available that supports trophies is Super Stardust HD.

This update is exactly what Sony promised. An update that recquires the developers of each game to make a patch to allow the useage of trophies and in game music. So no, this update isn't overhyped you just didn't read about it beforehand. And if you think about it its 2 freaking hours into July 2nd there is still plenty of time for patches to be released today. drac96

Well duuuuuuuuh....seriously i really want a reason to get mad at Sony for not having these games ready andall but they did warn us....BGM and trophies was up to the developers to implement. Those who overhyped it were the people who started believing that this update would solve EVERYTHING....i really didnt want to get overhyped seeing as i knew that not may developers would be on top of developing trophies and BGM when the firmware came out bu i guess i still got a lil excited. Ido agree that Sony should've added private voice chat fo all of you (yay! a reason to get mad at them) buti wasnt too concerned since i dont use my mic much. But i dont think that tis is the last of this XMB/trophy project. I expect further updates on this til 3.00 or 2.50 at the least.

Sony says HOME is on its way. HOME doesn't exist to me. I don't mind though I just want in-game music in the long run. Everything else I don't care much for.

Yeah, and IGN too I think. Well, good news for me is that all the games I have are confirmed to get trophies.

I agree, 2.4 was overhyped. It gets the biggest update ever and still doesn't come close to features the Xbox 360 had at launch. I'm not bashing the PS3, I think it has more potential than the 360, a lot more... which is why I'm so disappointed right now. I know it can beat the 360 in user interface ease, but I jsut don't know what Sony's thinking sometimes..bluem00se

please understand that this is prly just the beginning....Though its true Sony hasn't made some of the greatest choices this was prolly one of the only ways to give the masses what they wanted....in-game XMB (which they provided), BGM (which has to be up to the developer to choose because its the only legal way of Sony to provide BGM since the 360 already has some kind of patent over it), and trophies (whih obviosuly has to be up to the developers to create).

hell sony overhyped i. go back and watched the 1st 2.40 vid, they were gonna make in game music for all games but decided not to.

the potential is still there, any sony has at least shown that they are aware of and working on the things people want. technically they gave us what they promised, even if it all seems a little half-assed and thrown-together.

almost the entire xmb is locked out in-game except for a few (key) features, which makes me wonder why the whole thing needs to load (really shows laziness here). i don't really need it loading up menus for system setup i can't access, videos, games, photos, etc....

music, bluetooth, friends list, psn, trophies, downloads, browser, and a clock could have been organized on a small taskbar under the old ps button menu...

overall, just relieved i don't have to quit games for these few things anymore.

From Gamespot's 2.40 preview video:
You won't see any titles supporting this at launch of 2.40, but it is an option now for developers and they can use this. We don't really like to interfere with how a developer likes their gameplay and this has impact on gameplay.

similar to YOUR favored xbox360, its technically up to the developer to incorporate these things like trophies and in game music.

since its jsut coming out now, and they KIND OF PRETTY MUCH SPRANG IT ON US (pleasent suprise btw, we learned about it a week ago and now we get it? how cna it be over hyped in a week!) not many games will have it yet. the developers were probably a little jolted too, but very quickly they will respond (probably port the acheivments over as trophies)
