So the Cole redesign..

Being the biggest InFAMOUS fan here (in a non bosterous way) I of course was pissed about the redesign. But then I did my every other week playthrough (yea I start a new file every other week) and Cole has he is in Infamous 1 hes just so... so annoying. The voice actor has some bad moments (there is quite a few) hes annoying and he pessimisim can get on my nerves.

Im not saying this new redesign is super good. He does act and look like Nathan, his voice is to high pitched, but its better than old cole. But Im sure Sucker Punch can do some changes, get rid of some of the sarcastic lines, maybe make him look older, shorter hair then that would be perfect.

But Cole in InFAMOUS 1 sucks... now that Im replaying it. So seriously think about it (and sucker punch do listen to the fans they will do a couple changes... well according to them but I beleive) if they tone down the nathan-ess he could be a excellent character.

I personally love the redesign to be honest, albeit the similarities to Nathan. He looks more casual and fitting as a human - exactly what Sucker Punch has desired for the new Cole. However I do agree on how pessimistic Cole was in the first game; he wasn't very likeable and his voice was too grainy and rough IMO.

Anyways, back to the new Cole - if you want a girl's opinion, I think he looks delish. :p

i like the original Cole, and his new look bothers me VERY much. that's about the length and breadth of it. I like change - only for the better though. what i see so far tells me it's not the case.

I don't think that it's that bad, because I realised that if you remove his hair he looks very similar to the original. Perhaps he just decided to grow some hair?

As for the voice, (SPOILERS!!!) It sounds a little bit more like Kessler's, which makes sense.

There were times in the first inFamous where Cole does sound very annoying or unlovable. But the new design...well, it sucks. I don't mind the new weapon (it's cool), I don't mind the shirt or the pants, but his voice and his face...it's just "meh" I mean, he doesn't look like anything close to the old Cole and his hair is just plain ugly, his face doesn't even look like him and his voice became a young cool guy wannabe that annoys things even more. All I know is that, his style doesn't fit -- at all -- with the inFamous storyline, mood and gameplay. It's a good change, making Cole less down and deppressed, but I think that they just changed his whole attitude, like a whole new guy, which is a 380 degrees turn from the original character. And that is not good.

I really like the redesign and new voice actor. And honestly I didn't see any Nathan Drake in him until everybody started saying it and even then it's only because the hair styles are a tiny bit alike. I don't see any other similarities. Of course we'll have to wait until the game comes out and we play through it to decide if we really like him or not. I didn't hate the old Cole, but I also didn't love him. He was good, but there was room for improvement. I'm just glad Sucker Punch wasn't scared to change what they thought needed to be changed for the sequel just because of some technical limitations in the first game. Kudos to them! :D

I like the old Cole much better. I'm really disappointed seeing as how the 1st Infamous was one of my favorite games last year.

i personally feel that gme devs should stick with their character from the beginning. At most they should have tweaked his personality. When i see the new design i think to myself that isnt Cole. Its like building a brand. I guess they are trying to make him appeal to a wider audience but he just looks so different.

I didnt even know it was Cole when I saw the Infamous 2 trailer, I thought it was just another guy. I mean hes got hair, and he sounds different and im sure his face looks different too.

New Cole definitely looks less generic(though not by much), what I would be more worried about is the new VA, which in the trailer did not sound good at all.

I don't have a problem with it. Makes him looks a bit younger to me.

The new one looks like a cool dude... but i like the original one's look... but it will depend on the game... and that's more important to me...

Well I liked the first one and I hate the new one. They should have just made him a little older or sumtin, I really hope they change the new Cole and make him look more like the old one.kweeni

I hope they explain that something happens to him that makes his appearance drastically change, otherwise I'll be playing through the game thinking "This is not Cole, this is an imposter and the "real" Cole will show up at the end and be the final boss fight". Needless to say that wont happen, so yeah I hate the new look and the new voice, for me its a stab in the back to your fans.

imagine if you watch a direct sequel of a movie , for example Kill Bill and they use some other actress instead of Uma for the 2nd part the movie would lose much credibility for fans , same is happening here

I completely understand and the devs are aware that majority of fans don't like the redesign so they will tweak him slightly to look more like the original before release. But I still prefer the new look, and I think people can warm up to him like they did with the first game. I definitely recall people hating the look of Cole when the first few trailers arrived for the first inFAMOUS.

The new look didn't bother me at all & I am also a fan of the first one. People really need to stop with this whining over the new look & either buy it or don't. You can't satisfy everyone & I guarantee that even if they did keep his original look..someone woiuld've whined about that or something of lesser importance.

That's what I love about the internets, any expression of opinion is "whining".

The redesign is going to take some getting used to but with what I read about Infamous in Gameinformer it might not be as hard. The game looks to out do the first in every way, I can't wait.
