So we get the shaft again by EA Sports..

After reading a couple of reviews of NHL 08 online, both reviews said that the framerate was horrible for the PS3. The ign review said it didnt even look like 30fps and it look like ur playing hockey under strobe lights.

I was really looking forward t othis game. My first EA hockey game in 5 years. Even last years 2k hockey ran at 60 fps. I already ordered nhl 08 but fortunately i didnt have to pay for it. I will try it out and if its unplayable im trading it in for 2k8.

There is absolutely no excuse for EA to make this garbage. NO EXCUSE and i hope this encourages u to rent this game first then to pay EA ur money.

Anyways, im not gonna boycot EA. so far im enjoying EA games on the PC. but then again, im not that picky. so i wont burst into rage and cry like a little *insert add for something to cover up bad words* just because of minor things

my point being every developer doing sports games is having trouble getting 60fps out of ps3 versions this fall. I thought you were saying it happened with Madden, why haven't they fixed it for NHL.

look i dont like whats going on either, but maybe it isnt ALL EA's fault, im starting to think that SONY should actually help them out somehow, show them a few programming tricks, but SONY doesnt. MS on the other hand, spends a lot of time to help developers.

what a lovely ignorant statement....Sony has been working on and releasing SDKs to developers and updating them constantly. Ever hear of PS Edge? Didn't think so.

what a lovely ignorant statement....Sony has been working on and releasing SDKs to developers and updating them constantly. Ever hear of PS Edge? Didn't think so.

third party devs only got the Edge tools since GDC07. maybe developers need more time understanding how to use these tools efficiently.

third party devs only got the Edge tools since GDC07. maybe developers need more time understanding how to use these tools efficiently.

yea but the Edge toolkit wasnt the first dev kit they got, and the fact of the matter is that cell programming is still relatively new so everyone is learning the tricks of the trade

actually no all the 2k games are going to be 60fps and for some reason aright after 2k annoucned that EA said that every game after nba live08 will but running at 60fps which sorta proves that they could have made nhl 08 run at 60fps

i have heard of EGDe, and let me ask you, when did it come out? how long as the ps3 been out? MS not only gets out dev ktis, but actually GOES to the studio to HELP 1st AND 3rd parties. Sony has been only helping on EXCLUSIVES.

what other dev kits did they get? anyways the edge kit is basically the only kit that HELPS optimize for cell, the other kits didnt help that much.
