So whatever happened to the PS3 price drop?

I read everywhere that the price was gonna drop 100$ Jan, 28 and its now the 30th and still no price drop. Im just asking cause Its my bro b-day and we were gonna try and get him one if there was a price drop. Does anyone know if this is still gonna happen? if so when does it take affect? Thanks in advance.

at the end of the day your getting a awsome blueray disc player and console for £300 when the standard player is aroun the same price,i think its reasonable

um no. just going by what I read. I heard they were having a price drop because sony was finally seeing profit due to lower manufacturing costs and also because it was part of the deal they made with Warner Bros and New Line to get them exclusive so that the PS3 sales can double to bring out more Blu-Ray players. I'm not in need of a price drop, I already have my 60g. I was just wondering if this was still taking place cause my family asked me and I didn't know, so I asked y'all, and if it was then My fam and I where gonna put in on a system for bro. No biggie just a simple question. But from the look of it it was all a lie.

This is what I really dislike about sites like n4g.com. They just post rumors by random people and lots of people take it as fact. Then some people even get mad at sony for not dropping the price and they say, "WTF?! DAMN SONY SAID SO ON N4G.com there would be a price drop!" when in actuality it was just some random dude giving some points as to why a drop would be good.sa10kun

Yea, but alot of people read that site and post on slickdeals or cheapassgamer that it's basically confirmed that there will be a price drop.

The friggin thing dropped $100 before the Holidays, it's now $399 for the 40GB version (I believe it's 40).
