So what's the verdict on Soul Calibur IV's online?

For those who have tried it, how's it working out?

Online is great, lots of great players. im not sure if its just me but controls are slightly not responsive. and online sometimes laggy. xoxINSOMNIACxox

its because both versions use player hosted matches, so if the host is either far away from your ISP or has a bad connection you will lag, as well as if he joins and has one of those.

But when you find someone that is not like that its amazing, Im worried because there are many cheap combo spawners, specially with Maxi and Algol.

Yah i know, most of all opponents have great connections. And when you K.O. the opponent, it has frame rate issues. And seriously, i'm having a hard time blocking.

Im having lag because I live in Argentina, so my Pin is normally between 188-300 ms so I have normally 1 sec of lag which kills me in terms of comboing, but at least, parrying works well for me, I dislike blocking or parrying for that matter in fighters, and whith my friends we dont use it because its boring imo. But I had to break that oath because of the cheapers in the ranked matches. Especially the guys who use Algol and spawn those bothersome balls all the time making it almost impossible to get close. But Ive been kicking some guys in the unranked games with my pal Mitsurugi. I just want that they add a share creation to the online :D

and can you actually earn money if you just play offline?xoxINSOMNIACxox

Yeah you can earn money playing offline. The only time I experience any real lag like someone else said here is when the match is over which is weird. Most of the time while fighting though you will have lag free matches although it does happen just like any other online game but for the most part the game is lag free.

I personally love the online, only encountered lag twice I think, and the fighting is just fun, great that you can fight people online, truly next-gen stuff :P.

online is okay as long as you have an opponent who lives in your vicinity...like, for me, it'd be bad to have an american opponent since that's like one way and back over the atlantic so major lag.

well, other thing is...I hate siegfried players...i played one today and he pretty much owned, using different combos being cool and all...except if you were about to K.O. him, he'd guard until you've driven him back to the edge of the arena and uses siegfrieds sword launch to jettison you in to the ring out...gets annoying when your just like one pixel away from winning...

other than that it's great. it's even greater when people have headphones and a microphone :D
