So why can't you sort the content in your PS3 the way you want?

I'm either stupid or Sony can't think.

I bought Crash Bandicoot earlier this year and enjoyed it. I then bought Medievil and enjoyed that too but then I wanted to buy Crash 2 so I bought that. Earlier this day I wanted to sort the PS1 Cla$$ics I have so that the Crash games was right to each other but I can't because I can only sort the games I have by the time I downloaded them so Medievil will forever be in between my Crash games.

Have I missed something or is this the stupidest way of sorting you content in the so called Media Center by Sony?

Why can't you sort the content in your PS3 by name or anyway you want? For god sake I can sort my content in my Wii more freely and better, that's tragic IMO.

Highlight content and hit triangle. Select Information and change the "Album" info to reflect your intended sorting. Head back out and sort by "Album"

you can sort by name or type or date. you can even out them in folder so your ps1 games are in a folder, your psn games are in a folder, your demos are in a folder, etc.

It's still irritating and an issue probably very easily fixed by a firmware update.

It's things like this that makes Sony's claims of the PS3 being a PC earlier this gen extremely laughable.

He speaks the truth. This is how I keep my stuff sorted.

Edit: after re-reading the opening post, I misinterpreted what the TC was speaking about. Yea, more sort options would be good. It's odd though that you can't sort stuff under the 'games' by name, but under 'video' and 'Photos' you can arrange your files by name.

I agree with the TC...this is something so easy to put in a firmware update.

I actually agree with this, it's annoying. But it's really a very minor annoyance, I can live with it. It's the kind of thing that'll probably get fixed in a future firmware update.

How do you change the way your "Album " info is sorted?

I've created an album with my PS1 games and the only way I can sort them by is:

*Creation date down
*Creation Date up
*Recently played
*Format

What am I doing wrong?

Outside of Album sorting I use "Recently played" as that works best for me. Quicker to access the game I'm more than likely gonna play. I used to obsess over alphabetical but since moving to the nested sorting I'm much happier with what I use now.

See that's the thing I want to be fixed. I already know how to create Albums but it would be nice to be able to sort the content in that album by name or something.

It's such a small issue that could easily be fixed with the next firmware update. If they can add Trophies, custom music and XBM a new way of sorting your media can't be that hard.

There's at least 100 people for every one of you that would like to see some other feature hit the next FW update. As much as I welcome alphabetical sorting I don't think I'd ever have the strength to go as far as complaining about the lack of.

Actually it is important.

Have you ever had a multi-disk audio book and had it sort the tracks incorrectly? Very annoying. It is a small request to be able to sort by file name, shuffle entire directories w/ sub directories etc. This feature needs to be implemented and apathy isn't going to fix it.

Why the PS3 scatters files around when u copy stuff from another source(Flash Drive/PSP memory stick) instead copying stuff as presented?

It is just that Sony would not allow me to sort my Playstation 3 content in a manner I would find acceptable. This would not be allowed. Kaz said so...

There is always hope that PS4 will permit me to sort my content out better.
