how do you feel about it?

So don't say that WKC flopped yet despite getting bad reviews. It's all about the sales that makes it a flop or not.ExoticAnimalok then it will definitly flop...this is not a 50 cent or a LOTR game...getting low scores and selling 1 million in no time...no this is a new IP unrelated to anything famous...
[QUOTE="yokofox33"]Waiting on my 2 copies to arrive. I've played and thoroughly enjoyed many a game "professionally critiqued" as bad. wait...why 2 copies?Still getting the game in all its floperific glory.

So I'm guessing that you can predict the future. Give me the exact number of copies this game will sell. Oh thats right, you cant predict the future, so just give the game some time to sell. There is demand out there for this game, so it will sell some copies. Just don't blurt out that this game will flop because it is a new IP. That doesn't have anything to do with sales.
One for me, one for my brother. Also, 3 people on my friends list that are picking it up. Cant you and your brother share a copy?[QUOTE="lightleggy"]wait...why 2 copies?emitsu97
[QUOTE="ExoticAnimal"]Cant you and your brother share a copy?emitsu97Online wouldn't be very fun that way now would it? We're persistent co-op partners. Gotcha, so I'm assuming that you have 2 ps3?

I think I've decided to get the Japanese version instead. It's half the price and the story doesn't concern me. I think I'll be much happier only spending 30 bucks as opposed to 60 especially if it ends up being disappointing. I'm still devastated that the game is doing so poorly. I waited forever for this game to only have it flop hard.
[QUOTE="ExoticAnimal"]Gotcha, so I'm assuming that you have 2 ps3?emitsu97I have mine and a dedicated media PS3 and he has his. We live in different houses. Oh, I assumed that you both were still living under the same house. Never mind then.

Huh.
I can only imagine how you feel. :[ Bayonetta was well received on release, which I wasn't expecting. Nor was I expecting such low scores for WKC.
2010: the year of surprises.

It's not it flopped, it's just that I put so much time into waiting for the game and then to have it flop that makes it painful. I remember agonizing when I would see it in the stores over here. Then I waited patiently for a localization announcement. Then an eternity passed just for a friggin release date. Then it sucks. I'm more pissed that they made us go through all the waiting and guessing and then have the game suck hard.
If FFXIII is even remotely sucky I might just throw my games into the dumpster. I would have lost all faith in gaming.

Better get your dumpster ready. :[
But that's just my opinion of it so far.
I thought FFXIII looked great, then 'they' said it was linear. I can accept linear, but when you have the option to restart a battle I just think the developers are trying too hard to appeal to people outside the genre's set fan-base. I mean, linear is ok - it worked FFX and that's easily one of my favorite RPGs of all-time, but as we all know, FFXIII takes linearity to whole new levels in the JRPG kingdom.
I'm sure it'll be a great game in its own right, but when I play a JRPG, I expect to play a game with a world I can get lost in and characters I'll fall in love with. I'm sure Star Ocean 4 won't have the latter, but it'll tide me over until Ar Tonelico III, at least.
I always thought people who said that gaming nowadays is deteriorating into a casual appeal mess were crazy, but now I'm starting to really understand what they mean.

Waiting on my 2 copies to arrive. I've played and thoroughly enjoyed many a game "professionally critiqued" as bad. Yes, sometimes I think professional critiques get too caught up in their analysis and trying to find flaws that they miss the big picture of: is it fun? I too have enjoyed many games that scored low, and from what I've heard by players so far, WKC is a fun game, so I'll be picking this one up.im about 4hrs into the game, and so far i rate it 8.5 outta 10. game isnt a flop man, and it wont be, i didnt reserve this game and i had to go to about 4 different stores, including best buy and gamestop. ( 2 gamestop and 1 best buy) till i found a copy, they all said its sold out and the only copies left are either for the reserved ones or sold out. so, so far the game seems to sell well. a friend of mine in vegas had to go to 3 stores before he got his copy. so this game isnt a flop and it aint going to flop, it might not be the best game, it might not attrack alot of ppl, and it might also be abit easy, not THAT EASY of a game, but being a flop the game is far from itJoKeR_421There are plenty of copies to be had online, specifically Amazon. Buy.com already has it listed at 52.99. I'd be very surprised if this game moved 200,000 copies. Mediocre reviews aren't going to help it, plus Bioshock 2 is out next week. I see this game dropping in price quickly.
I've decided I'm still gonna get the game. Maybe even tomorrow I dunno. The main appeal may not be obvious but I'm sure its bound to have some awesome stuff. Jeanne D'Arc was pretty meh for a lot of the game but I got to a certain point and it just left me speechless, awesome game. Maybe I'm just in denial but I won't know until I try it.
so, creating your own combos is the best thing ever. right now I have a 4 ac combo, so once you get 4 ac points, I can combo a mob with 2 1 point attacks and 1 2 point attack without waiting for the bar to recharge. You have to execute the 2nd and 3rd combos within the allowed interval time (which is a split second).
making your own combos makes the combat A LOT more fun, fast, and intense.

thats actually one of the main reasons I'm interested in the game, seems like I could spend a long time just creating and tweeking combos for my character. I think in the IGN and GS reviews the only complaint that concerned me is the poor story and voice acting, both of which i already knew before any reviews came out. oh and the difficulty of the game is a turn off, but all other complaints aren't something i really agree with. graphics look great to me, complaints about the battle system are more complaints that it isn't an action RPG, Dungeons should be expansive with many areas to explore looking for loot and such.
My main issue with the story is that they are breaking it up into multiple games I have no issue with having a light hearted cliche RPG story a la Lunar silver star story (though I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as good as Lunar SSS), but when you try and break it up into multiple games it's going to be a problem. even a more complex story won't go well over multiple games, just look at the xenosaga games, they cut it down to 3 games from their ridiculously planned 6~7 games and it was a mess. I'll be getting the game when I have more money and free time.
