Yesterday my ps3 froze when I was playing a really intense 32 player game on a 16 player map. I thought whatever it just froze once (last time my ps3 froze was a year ago in the web browser). So I tried to turn it off by holding my finger over the power button on the front and I expected it to beep tree times and turn off. It beeped three times but it did not turn off after that so I was forced to turn it on from the back. I turned it on this morning and it seemed fine. I put in socom and started playing a game then it freezes again after only 2 minutes of gameplay. Then I held my finger over the power button in the front for 5 seconds and instead of beeping 3 times it beeped like 4 times and I thought it would be the YLOD. It wasn't YLOD it just turned off in a strange way. So I stopped screaming in fear and I turned it on again. Then instead of going into the xmb, it went to a menu with six options (don't remember all of them). They were like start system, restore default settings, format, etc. I chose format because I figured it would be the smartest thing to do since it will delete all the data and start from scratch. So now I'm sitting here watching my ps3 format itself which takes about 3 hours. I hope my ps3 works perfectly after this and there are no more problems. I figure that if the idiot programmers at slant six games can't even make a game run (not run smoothly just run) then this game is worthless. No ps3 game I have ever played has caused a fatal system error. I'm gonna try to sell it. But I'm definitely not playing socom again until it is patched and works flawlessly. Nobody should buy it until it is patched!

Ummm, I don't know how to tell you this but...... that menu is normal, your PS3 didn't break. Someone posted a couple days ago that 2.50 firmware added a menu that activates when you hold the ON/OFF button to turn on the PS3, instead of pressing it. You just deleted all your stuff for no reason:(

PS3s seem to have problems dealing with connection problems, for example, right now i can't play online, but my connection allows me to navigate and even download stuff from ps store, also internet browser seems to work great, games like MGO just give me a message that it couldn't check something, but SoulCalibur IV won't let me quit Playstation Network section, if i try to exit, it just freezes, and if i quit the game, my PS3 restarts all over, not just quits the game
