the gameplay itself is great but man...how are you supposed to play that crap when it's full of problems? everytime im in a clan war I get disconnected 2 to 3 times and it's just flat out annoying. slant six has no excuse for being so terrible with the game.
i dont have as much lag and problem as i used when i first got the game, its not perfect theres still workin on 1.30 patch which suppose to fix ALOT of things and it might actually be better.....but i love the game and i havent played a socom game ever till now. and from the day i bought until now there has been some improvement and just wait for the patch 1.30 then u wont complain i hope lol

....ummm, I never get disconnected from the server, but the screen froze once in a while, no big deal. the game is good, I liked it. and I played with my clan just fine.
I used to stand shoulder to shoulder with all the socom defenders. Then I played Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Call of Duty WAW, and I realized that Socom is dead. Confrontation is very broken and has been since the beta.
The retail game as of now isn't no where near as bad as the beta, I can assure you of that. Also I've been disconnected 1 time since the last update. And as far as the load times go, I timed a 16vs16 ranked game and it took less than a min to load, plus give or take for more consistant view for load times. Compared to 5-20mins lol during the beta. The servers still need some tweaking and some of the features implemented, once that happens I can see playing it until next christmas for sure, and most of those things should come in the next update due out by mid Dec in patch 1.30.

Still it's a shame that the game was sent out as buggy as it was. Requiring patches this soon shows a lack of testing and that means lack of dedication to the product. There should not be any reason to have two patches to fix issues the first game NEVER even had back on PS2.
if this game wouldve worked the way it was supposed to they wouldve had way better sales. i know i wouldve bought it if it worked properly at launch. now i have moved onto bigger and better games (r2 and cod) and wont be looking back

You're wrong. It's the game. The developers have admitted as much and have announced a new, magical, patch. socom.com.
If there was a Guiness Book of World record for worst flop of a game it'd have to goto SOCOM.. because the game got released and it was online only and the server did NOT even work, at all. You loaded the game and you couldn't even customize stuff just a start screen. Then went on to temp servers, and now the game is still horrible. Gameplay is ok when it plays but not worth the trouble. I can't think of another game with a worse release in history. I mean possibility if a disc based game just didnt work at all and you couldn't get refunded would be the only worse possible senario to top the mess of SOCOM.
