Socom is online only. No offline whatsoever and no splitscreen. Why would you want splitscreen anyways?

sadly no.

but that would enable some serious cheating and its good that it isn't on there.

this game has strict (good) rules like no respawn in any ranked matches. EVERYONE is ALWAYS using a mic (a sweet official one too!) so team work is excellent. when you want to communicate with other players on your team, you hold L2 to use your walky-talky, but you can still hear everyone through you tv or sound system if theyre nearby (if theyre standing behind you talking without the walky-talky, you can hear them behind you with surround sound! this is especially useful when easdropping nearby enemies!). if you die, you can't communicate with the players still alive, and you can never communicate with the players on the opposite team untill the entire game is over. So you see, being able to play split screen presents an enourmous advantage over your opposing team and should never be included in ranked games.

now if they wanted to allow it in custom games! i'd be all for that. but even still its totally against the whole game style. this is not a stand fps shoot-em-up. this is a very tactical and strategic game.

Well they COULD just do what Counter Strike does: If two computers are logged onto the same internet source, when one person dies, their screen goes black. They could easily do this on a single console, and no cheating would be possible.

mfarris2006, to answer your question, people who have friends would want splitscreen. if you only talk to your friends online while playing videogames then it's not really a friendship, you douchedrivebygamer50

Don't call people names but I for one have friends in real life that I play Socom with. Yes 2 playstations and 2 socoms and yes they are myfriends. So we are friends in the real world and in the gaming world. So it is a REAL friendship. Think about stuff before you say it.
