Socom Confrontation The Worst Start In Socom History!!!!

I wonder if anyone disagrees with me on this issue but I have had the worst night in socom every I could even log in to one room and I kept getting this stupid pop up to either disconnected from server or disconnect out of game I would have through that this would have been taking care of on the beta I mean this is terrible.

To tell you the truth, i mainly bought the bundle for the headset. but saw that the bundle was a great deal. picked it up for an extra 10$ for the game.

Every Socom game went through this(minus the corrupt data thing at the start, that was a "wtf" moment, but its easily fixable), but servers are just extremely stressed now with the number of people trying to get on, it'll get better in 2 days tops.KamuiFei

Its not really that bad actually, I know at least 4 other people irl that got it the same time I did. We started our clan, and make a lobby in Japan, Canada or EU, and we don't get lag or anything. Its the servers in the US that seem to lag currently.

how can someone say be patient with you money that you can't use it's not like I can play it on single player they took that away and beta test the sugar honey ice tea out the game. if your going to take somethingg away like single player you need to have it at least be able to get in a game no matter how laggy.

I don't think there is any question that Socom: Confrontation has been plagued with problems from the beta to the launch. And that is a very frustrating deal for people like me who have been waiting for this game to drop.

It has all the potential in the world, but only bugs and glitches have been our reward. I'm sure it will be fixed in time. But the point is that it should be fixed now.

I would have to disagree. I've done the beta, so I know what's going to be in the final (pretty much the same thing, bugs and all like the last two times with other Socom games)

The worst imo was Socom 3. Even the single player was poorly programmed. Then there's the online mode ofcoarse. It didn't just start, but it stayed bad for months. Hopefully this one will show some promis soon.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. I've seen a lot of Socom problem threads today, so I think I'm going to wait a bit. Money is short and I'd rather it be well spent.

the game is great i think people don't don't like it because they arn't playing real servers AKA ranked servers with no respawns. People communicate much more and it gives the game more excitement.

i do agree they really need to patch the bugs but almost all socom games have been similar to this at the start. this is probably one of the worse launches though.

So what was Sony doing then during the beta? I thought that was the point, to stress test the servers so stuff like this wouldn't happen. They already have my money and now I have to wait "2 days" to play. Yeah, this is going back tonight when I get off work.

It might be on your end. I didn't have any problems like that updating SOCOM.

I don't see why anyone is so surprised about the servers. This happens to every game. World of WarCraft (yea yea, i know) is one of the most popular games in the world right now. The first few weeks, it was beyond unplayable. Most times you couldnt get past the main menu. I played the game for an hour solid last night on a Canadian server, never had one disconnect, or anything. Yes there are bugs. Yes there is lag. But this will be fixed. Yes the graphics are not up to par with something like Dead Space but it's not like they are bad either. The game itself is acctually very fun, and i was playing with a bunch of guys who just got it too, so there was no tactics involved. Lots of potential, i like the game, the more of you return it, the less lag the rest of us to deal with.

Maybe I just feel this way because I was so expecting a horrid game. Besides, if anything, you still got the headset! Haha.

It happened to me but i think its because i logged onto the net on my PC during the download. I just watched tv instead and it worked fine. I use a router btw.

Yeah these start up issues are why I'm waiting till the weekend to get it. Expecting an online game like this to be perfect day one is abusrd. You've have to be on LSD to think every will run perfect for everyone.Ket87

+1 , I bought it knowing it was going to be a rocky start, i didnt care. Once you get into a game there is no problems, well on my end that is. Im just happy i now own it and just need to wait for a patch instead of a pushed back release date.

They had problems with Warhawk when that first come out and look at it now...

Me neither, worked seamlessly. Maybe problems w/ different models of PS3? Like I said, no problems and FTR I'm rockin' a 60GB.

do you have any suggestions, because I can load into playstation store just fine but its just when I go to update the game, it give that error message and disconnects me from playstation network, any suggestionsProjectPat187

Try deleting all the SOCOM files off your PS3, reinstall it and try to reupdate it, see what happens. Also if you're using a switch or router try connection your PS3 to you modem directly for the time being until the game updates. I don't think that's the problem, but that one variable you can eliminate then.
