All the connection issues really took the fun out of buying the game today. I know it will get better, hopefully soon. But, for the few minutes that i did actually play the game....it did not look that good. I think MGO is as good or better. From all i could gather between the horrible lag and LACK of VOICE chat, this game is kind of basic or generic. You are just kind of thrown in the game without any tutorial so you are left on your own to figure things out, and again, for a game that seems to stress communication, there is a decidedly lack there of.

either you're playing with people that dont have mics, are charging their mics (game just came out and it takes 3hrs to charge), or dont know how to use them.
every game i`ve played my whole team have had mics. and i love the proximity chat when im behind an enemy and yell "TIME TO DIE B1TCH"

man! MGO is pretty bad i think, the socom Beta was better than MGO. Give it time, the game will grow on you. MGS single player mechanics dont go online, MGO should have played like Socom. Way to much camera turning in MGO
my friend has played it and it pretty much draws comparisons from metal gear online. i am intrested in this game becuase i liked the first 2 socoms but i'm not sure if it is totally worth the 40 bucks, it all looks like it has been done before
i got to play it for a good 3 hours or so. i think its fantastic obviously not the most visually stunning game on the ps3 but its worth it for the bundle. why do people complain all socom games have been like this at the start give it a week or so. early adopters always get the short end of the stick.
wow...i hate people who base shiet on the beta...play the goddamn game now! its incredible the leap that they made from the beta. there is no lag the voice chat is excellent and gameplay is solid. And do not compare socom to mgo because thats ridiculus socom is way better

Well I have played all the socoms for the PS2 and the controls feel pretty much the same in confrontation to me. The graphics are great for a socom game, the PS2 games always had terrible graphics. As for the connection problems, its an online only game in its first week, give it atleast a few days or week and just about every major bug should be eliminated.
