See that is why this site blows. Lame reviews and lame hater people. The game is fixed now. I have played since Sunday problem free!I am done with this site. I am going over to the IGN forums or G4. Later!mfarris2006Seriously. Gamespot has the worst reviews. They are always so harsh. Nothing pleases them. NO Socom game deserves a 6.5.

this is ridiculous! all the issues they listed will be fixed within the first month easily... the only 1 of there points that are valid is that movement can be awkward sometimes.. but that isn't worth a 6.5! Gamespot has gone too far this time.americahellyeah
Well... plenty of users have been complaining about how slow reviews are coming up. Unfortuntely, they reviewed it with the problems.
Why would they review it now, and not when most of the problems are ironed out? Typical Gamespot reviewer idiocy...hillelslovak
:? people were making threads for days now asking where is GS review of Socom?
The problems should have been dealt with before it got released.
Yeah, I agree though. Gamespot has been really erratic lately. They give World in conflict no cons, but take .5 off for no reason. They take a point off of LBP for trivial complaints, and took a point and a half off of Fable 2 because it didn't play to their preferences.pyromaniac223You are assuming all games start off as 10s and then get marked down...That isn't the case. You also are looking at the reviews completely superficially.
Games should never be reviewed on what they could have been or will be after patching. spazzx625But if they ship broken, and a patch comes out the very same day that fixes everything, changing a 5.0 game to a 9.0, wouldn't that merit a day delay in the review?

And I read the written review of Fable. The last paragraph made it seem like a must-have AAA title that was amazing. Then the number didn't really reflect the article.

Yeah...How dare they review a retail product. :|
It was shipped with problems...It's gonna get reivewed with the problems.
So wanna tell me what was wrong with R&C? :| that game was fine to me and ALOT others...

Seems like they forgot about the problems in Super Smash Brothers. Brawl:wink:lol poor spazz, steping up for some reviewers who don't know what they do
Anyway, people, why do you ask so eagerly for GS reviews, only to get pissed if the score doesn't match your expectations?? You'd do a big favor to yourselves if you just didn't care about those reviews and get whatever you're interested in those games. Then if a reviewr doesn't like the damn game, well **** him, you are happy with your choice and that's what matters at the end of the day.
[QUOTE="n00bkid"]Got me...I liked R&C. What the hell does that have to do with anything? So wanna tell me what was wrong with R&C? :| that game was fine to me and ALOT others...

You said "it shipped with problems it will get rated with problems" or whatever. R&C never shipped with problem and yet it got rated like it was bugged like mad :| so all im saying is what you said is false (no offence) and only 1 page review? seems a bit rushed

well i never complained.. but i thought that GS would have the forsight to know that the problems would be fixed.. i mean even the beta went through 7 patches in only a month... why wouldn't they fix the full game!?I love it. This just reminds us that game reviews are silly and meant to be made fun of. There is no way I'll decide if a game is good or bad because of what some stranger wrote. Play the games people. Then decide for yourselves. Renting is your friend.
I've found great games and great duds this way, regardless of reviews. I do read them, though, after I've played a game to see if maybe I missed something. But I've pretty much made up my mind by then.
I'm not standing up for anyone. I have never played this SOCOM, nor will I. I am trying to show some intelligence here. It is so ridiculous to think that reviewers should wait to review a game after it's been patched just because it has the SOCOM name attached to it. The GS score is exactly in line with 3 other reviews up :|spazzx625
I don't give a crap about socom tbh, I was never interested in that game and the score kinda shows why. But one thing is true, from all that everybody has said: they are not consistent with their reviews. They favor some games while lower scores for others without a solid reason, or with a reason given to other games that didn't got penalized for that same reason.
That's why I don't really trust reviews any more.
;)
if it's only because of technical issues they should update their review once the issues are fixed just like 1UP is doing. Check here:

agreed.. if ever they would update a game review it should be for Socom.if it's only because of technical issues they should update their review once the issues are fixed just like 1UP is doing. Check here:

6.5 is generous and they'd have to base it on the fact that the game is playable and has decent graphics. I mean lets be realistic. It has no story mode so unless you are a diehard online shooter and really hard up for this particular game were is the replay value?
SOCOM has turned into that ugly chick who still in bar at 2am. Sure you'll give her a try but you're definately not looking for anything long term.
considering i never played socom before and i love it the review is clearly off. i have experienced minor problems but ppl EVERY ONLINE GAME HAS PROBLEMS AT LAUNCH. i couldnt even get on cod4 for an entire weekend and that was well after launch. and i mean they didnt even mention how great the game sounds. that was a major thing. the use of the sixaxis for tilting just got mentioned in one sentence. thats sad.
the game is FUN and thats what matters
