LBP online is as bad as Socom was when Socom launched. GS reviewed Socom harshly mainly because of all the server and connection problems. Should LBP be re-reviewed and dock a couple of points because of these server problems?
No because the servers will be fine eventually. They start out shaky for every game. If that was the case then Socom should be re-reviewed because it doesn't deserve a 6.5. It is a at least a 7.5 or 8.0.

I expect issues at launch with major online games , but if the game is busted due to server overload or a major bug that freezes the game and they can't play the game enough to get a good feel for the game and gameplay ..... then reviewers should cut the games some slack and wait a few weeks - give a grace period. I don't need the games reviewed within the first couple of days , just let us know that the servers are currently messed up and a review will come as soon as they can play it enough , and if the developers sit on their behinds ..... then by all means , lay the smackdown.

Oh, I directed my message to TC. I think the reason Socom was rated so badly was because it was almost completely unplayable. LBP does have issues online, but it's still accessible/playable.
And as far as LBP online goes, I was online this morning. I did notice some lag, but it wasn't all so bad. No problems.
then they should re-review socom when the servers are spic and span. its total BS that game is getting such criticism. i've never played socom before and i love this game. whenever i play in 8x8 ranked servers i get NO problems at all, and they just recently updated the servers with a crap load of more ranked games

....if this were the case than many games would have to be re-reviewed or docked points because alot of games had issues when they launch. it will be fixed, it happens. its a score on a website on the internet...we will all be fine

SOCOM is a game that you play exclusively online. The issues in SOCOM mar the experience more than it does in LBP. I'm very disappointed that the game was released in an unfinished state, because I was really looking forward to it. The score didn't bother me so much as the faults that the reviewers found with the game. If it wasn't for the GS review and IGN's article about the game's problems, I would have bought a broken, unfinished game. Thankfully I can use that money to buy Fallout 3 instead :)

I don't know how long have you been here, but let me tell you something:
GS reviewers are not consistant on the way the score a game.
With Socom you need online to get the feel of the game play. With LBP you can figure that the feel offline is the same online. Plus Socom had a lot of issues with connecting and issue getting into a game from the lobby(they had a whole month to fix this). LPB is more so lagging and due to them loading up the user created maps from the beta they had to disable a few features. At the end of the day LBP came out to be more playable than Socom and reviews are for those who can not rate a game for themselves. I will be getting both soon.

I agree. I think SOCOM should be re-reviewed since everything bad about it (this is what they said) was something like lag or server problems.

Might want to keep in mind that SOCOM is an online only game, LBP is not.
