I'm with you on the lobby part, but health regen and the cover system are only in the respawn mode. Vets like you and I will be busy playing classic mode, yeah its not perfect but its better than nothing. Here's what they've confirmed so far about classic mode: No cover system, no health regen, push to talk mic, no grenade arc, tripped wired grenades, no gun hot, dual primaries, no pistols.
Why are they taking out lobbys, and is getting Health Regeration? Having a Cover system? whats next respawn ONLY? Its so retarted. Who's out there telling the industry this newbs? because back when I was playing socom2, I never came on to sites like this I was to busy playing 8hrs of gaming. Its like the worst thing that I ever witness. I'm not just saying this for my own good. I loved ever thing about SOCOM on the PS2 and know there becoming more like KZ, CoD, Bfbc2 lol this is just a WTF is they doing moment? Even thought they going to get more sells the games are going backwards. I hate when people think they know what they taking about. I remember playing Socom1 online on PS2 before online even was taked about, Im sure im not the only one that feels this way .spitbulletz
I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get into the beta; since that is what saved me from buy confrontation. They are doing what most games try to do now, and thats going for mass appeal. but forgetting what makes a great game.
On my personal opinion I liked the Socom 3/Combined Assault a lot, let me tell you why. Even though I have all 4 Socom games for PS2, the first one (and only) that I played online was Combined Assault cause the game was released at the end of 2006, exactly when they installed broadband internet at my house. So I got used to the huge maps (Devil's Road still my fav multiplayer map ever). I'm pretty sure that if I had played Socom II on it's prime time I would liked over the huge map games, but that didn't happen.
I also totally understand your frustration over games the leave the roots to appeal to the masses. I have a similar feeling with the Resident Evil series, I'm a huge fan the classics back on the PS1 with survivor horror, scarce of ammo/health and so on. So I was really disappointed when they released RE4 to appeal to the masses, removing most of the greatest aspect of the classic games, including the survivor horror in favor of action.
Atleast they did listen to the 'SOCOM VETS' and made a classic mode for them. They could have ignored them and appealed to the mass audience if they wanted so i give them kudos for thatmegaspiderweb09Really i understand the break up in modes but zipper would have lost their mind if they did not add that mode, all socom would have died right there for hardcore fans and then it would would just been called SOCOD

Zipper didn't listen to us, they ****ed in our face.
dude matchmaking is so much easier man, lobbies make it so darn annoying to find a game,,,with matchmaking its boom and go, way more effectiveI'm hyped for the game, but I HATE match making systems! I want to play what I want, when I want... Lobby system ftw!
